Steven E Kimbrough Scam Artist Long Beach, California
*Author of original report: Charitable Money
*Consumer Comment: Not my experience with him...
Steven has gone through Long Beach presenting himself as a Video Production Company and Producer. He has also taken money from charitable organizations by promoting events, collection contributions and taking the money, leaving the charity with nothing.
His usual targets are small business owners and he trolls networking groups and Chamber of Commerce meetings to find victims. He is very slick but sick.

I suppose the a check would be easier for Mr. Kimbrough to turn over since he would not be able to cash it. However, the money he did collect was cash and the charity was for children. I'm sure his motives in this case were very caring.

Not my experience with him...

I used to work for one of the largest Alcoholic Beverage companies in the country. I used him on a lot of projects.
I have had SEK work on a number of projects, including some tours where various companies participated. I have also personally witnessed SEK hand over a check to a charity for a large sum of money.
I doubt very seriously that a production company would seek to not perform work they were being paid for, especially if they had produced good work in the past. SEK did some website videos for our company, and did a very good job. He was responsive, and always returned my phone calls, and also spent the time to chase me down when I was busy with other things, but could not give him the time needed to finish his shot list. He was also extremely understanding when I asked for payments in installations because our business was short due to the economy.
I've seen SEK work hard to produce good work, and in the face of putting his personal reputation on the line. I'd work with him again tomorrow. I can't imagine that this is any more than someone with a personal vendetta.
