I had a Structured Settlement from  an accident hit by a bus and suffer from Brain Damage,In 2004 Stone Street though I do not remeber clearly  I have the Documents Bought approx a little over 100.000.00 and gace me aprox 42000 then this I do not recall but the following year they bought over 100,7883.00  and gave me only 13000. I never spoke with an attorney I if I had to do over would had someone handleing my Fianances because clearly the decsion I made with my money were not at all in my best intrested I didnt even need the money for anything I didnt buyt a car I didnt buy a home pay off bills I have no clue where all of my settlement went beside the paper trail of doc and checks written to anopther person who also took advantage of my condition. I believe that there should be a law that would prevent people like these Company from taking advantage of someone with a mental Illness . I cannot understand why a judge which I never went court? would sign something so wrong for someone unless very incompetened would agree to this I am in theraphy working on my condition but when this things come up I just do not understand why no one was looking out for my best intrested. These Structure Company  Stone Street rip me off so bad. it make me so angry and sick wondering how many other in my condition are be taken like this.

You would have benefited from a Special Needs Trust because a trustee wouldn't engage in a transaction like this, it violates the prudent man rule. I too have a brain injury, but my recovery rendered the protections of a SNT unnecessary. So I had to dissolve my SNT and now I'm proceeding with SSC. You seem to have been hit at a time when rates for consumers were poor, but it seems SSC did not act unethically or unlawfully. I think if you told them you were mentally ill that they would decline purchasing your payments. Good luck to you and I suggest talking to your local DHS to see what they can do to help you.

Did you really get a bad deal from Stone Street

Did they really give you that bad of a deal? What was the cost for them to get you that $13,000 and how far out where these payments that you had coming in? This is something you would have to take into consideration as you probably needed the money very badly and they helped you out. Now that you are out of a tough spot you have buyers remorse? Sorry Charlie or Moe it doesn't always work like that right? I am not saying you are definitely wrong. There are a lot of reviews online for stone street and I can't tell you that any are right or wrong as you know there are three sides to every story. Your side, Their Side, and the right side. Good luck in the future.

There is little you can do about these 'Factoring Companies"  they are the worst loan sharks out there.  First of all Ken, they will hound you to sell your payments.  I was mailed a letter with a $10.00 check that if you qualify and what they mean by qualify that you actually are receiving payments, That the check enclosed will be activated and you may cash it immediately.  I called was told I was more than qualified, Deposited the check into my bank account and guess what; it was returned by their bank , after being ASSURED the check was good.  Well Fees, and now a hold will be placed on every check I deposit now by the bank occured.  I contacted Stone Street and after many hang-ups and forwarding on . I ended up with one of their Executive buyers that assured me after he tried to convince me to sell my Life Contingent Payments their offer from one the salesman was; $5000.00 for 120 payments of $963.63 .  Guess who it was wonderful Stone Street Capital !  now back to the check thing, I told the Executive buyer a resounding no, and that I will email him my bank statement and proof of RETURNED CHECK.  Guess what happened ; NOTHING!  I was most assured that they were going to fix this, by the Executive Buyer.  So that is my comment ; never trust a Shark net to keep you safe  from  sharks!

Now you have likely spent the cash and your monthly income is gone.

You're not the only one using these "annuity buyers."

Weren't YOU the one that contacted them?

Sorry you made a bad decision and hope your life will get better.
