First, the storage manager is professional and understanding. She might be the only part of this company worth saving. Long story short, I was told that I was being charged one price and then was charged a greater amount without my authorization.

Apparently, there is a monthly insurance fee and the representative who was helping me completely failed to mention this extra amount. She originally told me how much I was being charged and then I asked her what this amount included. Even after asking for a breakdown of the amount she verbalized for me, she failed to mention the extra fee that she was about to charge me for.
Not only this, but she ended up charging me the incorrect amount of days for my storage unit (18 days instead of the correct amount of 13 days).

I won't say the representative was intentionally misleading me because I don't know this for certain. She was probably new to the job as she didn't not even know that she's supposed to argue with customers (yes, she talked back to me a little.)

The part that really bothered me about the situation was that StorageMart does not provide refunds, even in circumstances like this where the company is in the wrong.

Plus when I got home and tried to verify the corporate number, the general number on the website would not provide it and the lady was hateful. What does it say about a company that won't give out their corporate number? It says that they obviously don't care about their customers.

To those reading this, I would advise going to a big-name place like U-Haul. The price is the same, the units are really nice, and the company appears to care about customers.

I will update this after Monday. The sales manager is supposed to try to get my money refunded through her regional manager. We'll see how that goes.

I am sorry that this person had a bad experience. This is not the sort of thing that happens normally. Sure there can be misunderstandings about one thing or another, but we try to make customers comfortable and try to always take care of them. We will normally do whatever it takes to help someone out or to make a situation right.
