Strong Credit Fair Credit Bureau Mislead lied ripoff scam fraud rude condescending Mercer Island, Washington

First off all, this company uses the phone number 1-800-397-3742. Experian's phone number is 1-888-397-3742, even though many sites on the internet list Experian's number as the 1-800-397-3742 one. 

When you call 1-800-397-3742 you may think you are talking to Experian but you have actually reached a scammer at strongcredit.com, and the sales person on the phone is very careful not to let you know otherwise.

They will tell you that you don't want to just order your credit report but that you really need to sign up for their Identity Lock program because with a one time fee of $295 you will be able to check you credit score as many times  as you want, anytime for the rest of your life. Sounds great huh? Just for everybody's info, Identity Lock is available directly through the three Credit Bureau's. You don't have to pay $295 to get this service.

After you have excepted, thinking you are ordering this fine program through Experian, they will tell you they are sending you a package Priority Mail Signature Confirmed. This is actually one thing that was true. But when you get it, if you break the plastic seal inside you can no longer get a refund of any kind. But you really don't know you've been scammed until you break the plastic seal and open it, so at that point you fell all the way into their trap. The problem is you don't know that the contents are worthless unless you open it. 

Inside the folder you will find a sheet with the phone numbers on it to contact the three Credit Bureau's to call and set up the Identity lock with them... What? This information is available online for free! strongcredit.com does nothing themselves for you, they just send you info that's available for free. Also included in the packet are order forms to get your credit scores through the mail, for what, in my state, is $11 each time.. what again!? We were told we could get our credit scores at any time for FREE for the rest of our lives, but nope, another lie. This was the only reason we got this program, because we thought we where purchasing a life-time program from Experian.

Also included in the packet is some other fluff and their super special copyrighted letters that are supposedly written by some mythical lawyer. There's certainly nothing here worth $295.

Now for the fun part. When calling the people at strongcredit.com and explaining that this program isn't as described the Supervisor gets on the phone and instantly becomes combative, condescending and extremely rude. When he was asked about their misleading phone number he became angry and yelled. It became apparent right away that this was certainly just another credit scam feeding on Experian's customers. These people will throw lie's at you faster than you know what to do with. These are professional thieves and as far as I can tell this scam goes way deeper than this branch of the scam. The supervisor even told me to get free credit reports all you have to do is lie on the order sheet saying that I suspect fraud on my credit report even if I know there isn't any. Wow... 

I wright this report because there just wasn't enough info on these people online and I felt a need to warn others before they fall into this trap. AVOID this company at all cost. If you have already ordered from them you've been scammed, so report it to your credit card company, BBB and the attorney general of WA. This may also fall into a mail fraud category, so reporting this to the U.S. Postal Inspectors may also be an option.
