Alec DeFrawy aka "the Egyptian" - central figure in this scam

Well, out of total curiosity, I wanted to find out if TCT was related to the old Studio 58 Models back in 2000', and it was. I worked there from 02/2000 to 11/2000 and saw it all. I was a TE (talent executive)and worked with all those guys: Alec, Terri, Tom, Joe, and was surprised to still see them up and running.

First the truth:

(1)A lot of good, ethical people worked there. Unfortunately none of them were decision makers.

(2)Models did sleep with managers.

(3)Enrollment fees used to only be $225. $495 now? Incredible.

(4)Terri was the only TE that made money worth while because she was good at selling the dream.

(5)Not only was I a TE, but I hired sales reps to sell our internet advertising services. But listen to this: They trained themselves (the new hires) after paying a $395 deposit on their training materials. It was supposed to be refunded at a certain sales achievement. Alec told them 3 - 4 months to reach that goal. Out Orlando test groups never came close. Realistically it would take 2 - 3 years to get the deposit based on statistical analysis. I had reps cry in front of me because they couldn't pay their bills. That is when I quit for ethical reasons.

Second: What I did about it. I reported everything. I kept very important documentation that was secret to the company (Alec, you can cry now)and the FTC (Washington, DC branch)and BBB called me and we had informative, professional conversation. The FTC sent a FedEX guy to my house with an envelope that I filled with about 60 pages of documentation. He was instructed to wait for me to put it all together. They didn't want to wait any longer.

Third: The good news. The BBB and FTC have paid employees for inside information, by getting them in as employees (another tissue Alec?) and accumulating data. I will disclose this now because it has been going on for a while. Open calls have been secretly videotaped, although from a legal standpoint there was nothing done wrong there. Does anyone remember seeing it on the local Orlando news?

Fourth: My advice. Don't work there unless you need a coke connection and have no ethical values. Keep the complaints coming. Our best weapon is word of mouth.

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Much to Say re: TCT/Options Talent/Trans Continental

AUTHOR: Robin - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, January 04, 2003

Although I continue to post occasional responses here, I quit doing extensive research a few months back. It became mentally draining. A few days ago, I took up where I left off. Where do I begin? Okay, here goes:

Since Ray has made mention of Alec, I'll start w/ him.

Alec Defrawy is Ayman A. El-Difrawi, son of Rafiah Kashmiri. I believe Mr. Kashmiri recently stepped down from the TCT Board of Directors. In 1995, Alec pled guilty to a criminal charge of conspiracy to commit bank fraud and wire fraud. He also uses the name Brian Anderson, depending on who he is dealing with at the time.

The other inidividual who was involved in the same conspiracy charge is David Elliot. He was recently dismissed from TCT, but has been rehired and apparently is working out of the Edge Talent office. He is supposedly an arrogant individual. I actually sat in on a conference call initiated by him from Florida. He gave us some hype about one of us getting a $1000.00 bonus, if we brought in the most individuals to the following Saturday 'open call'. After the call, I told my Executive Manager that I failed to catch the gentleman's name who had just been speaking to us (approximately 15 Model Scouts in the room). He looked uncomfortable and a little irritated that I had put him on the spot. He didn't even know the man's name. One of the Scouts said, "I think it's Elliot something". Of course, it turned out to be Dave Elliot. No one ever made mention of who won the bonus. According to someone on this website, the bonuses never come to fruition.

Next, I want to address the BBB thing. I had posted before about having reported Options/TCT to the BBB. I frequently check the San Diego area BBB info. Before I complained, there were three complaints indicated for that area office. The number has never changed, so the information is obviously inaccurate. Okay Ed, go ahead and say, "I told you so".

Rumor has it, Edge Talent is failing miserably. They never really got their feet off the ground.

Shall we get out the violins?

More news--TCT has been up to no good on Google. If you do web searches under the name Trans Continental, there are tons of glamorous cover up websites talking up TCT. They are causing the negative ones to be difficult to locate. I have still managed to find a considerable amount of beneficial and factual info searching under the name 'Options Talent' though. They are also creating 'look alike' websites to confuse the public.

Last, and this is important. Any of us who discovered TCT through Monsters.com need to report our negative experiences to Monsters. I have written them twice and will do so again. My sources indicate they are starting to listen to our grievances, but we must keep the communication flowing.

Don't want to overload everyone all at once with too much information, so I will end w/ this...

Keep the faith. It may seem like nothing is being done, but...(wink).
