A gift certificate was redeemed for a service which was not provided. Staff did not redeem full service due to the fact that the client was 20 minutes late for the appointment. Prior to the time that the client was to be at the spa for the massage that was to be given.

The client did phone the spa to make them aware of the tardiness. The staff acknowledged and allowed the client to proceed to the appointment as planned. Upon arrival at Sublime Day Spa the manager now informed the client that all Services were not going to be given due to the tardiness and that a 50% surcharge would be added for any rescheduling. With these options the client decided to go ahead with the service that was planned for that day.

This service was to provide a relaxing massage. The service purchased was a package for a Aroma Therapy, Steam Room and a massage. The Spa claims to provide a relaxing atmosphere as part of there service. Do to uncontrollable circumstances that Sublime Day Spa will not provide the services you paid for.

After speaking with the manager about how rude and being cut short she stated that I could make another trip and get the rest of my service with out an appointment because for the portion I was not provided you do not need an appointment. This leads me to believe what is being advertised and you are paying for is not the service you recieve. The only service provided was the massage however I was charged for the whole package. So if no appointment was needed for the services I did not recieve there should have been no problem providing them even if I was running late.

20 minutes late

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, May 19, 2006

Correct the client was 20 minutes late. I do understand that if you are late that there should be penalty. The problem with this Spa was that when the person went to redeem this Gift Certificate, the manager was very rude and didn't want to help the client out. So when I contacted the manager, her song and dance changed and was willing to bend over backwards for me but not the recipient of the Gift Certificate. That sounds like bad business to me. Besides my whole point here is not to bash people. I just want to help out other consumers in the Jacksonville area that may be looking for Gift Certificate as a gift and what could be expected from Sublime, rude greeting staff and non-friendly receptionists.

20 minutes late - that's the problem!

AUTHOR: Peter - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, May 18, 2006

The problem here is that "the client" showed up 20 minutes late! While I commend "the client" for having the courtesy to call and inform the salon that he/she would be late, it is unreasonable to expect the salon staff to sit around twiddling their thumbs waiting for "the client" to make his/her grand entrance.

Nearly all salons have a statement listed on their menu of services regarding late-comers. Normally late-comers are still welcome, but may forfeit the full length of their appointment based on how late they were. This is to keep things rolling along on schedule. If they allowed "the client" the full scheduled time despite having arrived 20 minutes late, then the next person would begin their service 20 minutes late, and so on and so forth.

There is no excuse why one person's tardiness should impact the entire salon for the rest of the day. And that is why they acted in the reasonable manner in which they did.

Next time, hopefully "the client" will be responsible and arrive on time.
