I clicked on an email received in my inbox that said I had won a vacation to cancun. It asked for my name and then told me to call an 800 number within 2 minutes to claim my prize. It gave me confirmation code of 483. I called the number and spoke with a representative who asked for the code and uttered "congratulations you are 1 of 3 lucky winners to win 3 vacations for free" at this point I realize this sounds too good to be true, specifically when my email was 5 days old. So I continue to listen to this ficticious script, when she told me to go to a website at www.sbrflorida.com, she then proceeds to walk me through the three vacations I had won for Orlando, Bahammas, and Daytona, that all displayed these fabulous pictures of a luxury timeshare, and sandy beaches, she also said that I qualified for a 4th vacation to DisneyWorld. At this point, I realize this must be some BS but I countinue to listen. She then tells me to click on the "itinerary" link where it gives a summary of my savings which was over $1500, and all I had to pay was $298 pp and my kids could stay for free. I told her that I wasn't prepared to pay a dime because the ad said, I had won it for free. She indicated that she understood and that she would see what she can do for me. She then puts a guy on the phone, who was extrememly pushy and very obviously desperate to close the deal and get my credit card information. He told me that he would knock $200 off the of the price and change me ony $198 pp. I told him that is a great price, but I still do not feel comfortable in giving you my credit card over the phone. He indicated that they are registered with BBB and for me to check the reports. I put him on hold and went to google and typed in "summer bay resorts scam" and saw pages of stuff come up on the company, when I proceeded to read him one of the complaints, he said "you should not base this off of one complaint" I told him there were 6 pages of complaints, he then hung up. I am so glad that I wasn't too naive to give him my credit card information, otherwise I would have been their victims as well.
