In 2005 we bought into Festiva Resorts in Branson, MO, the Cabins on Green Mountain.

In 2007, we upgraded and traded to their Stormy Point Village in Branson.  Each year when visiting, we were pressured to roll over into their “point system” which we refused to do, and which continually pissed them off.

While visiting in 2014, we were told that our former contract with Festiva was no good and that the owner had been convicted of fraud and was going to prison. Since Summer Winds owned most of the Stormy Point Village resort, we needed to roll over to Summer Winds to protect our investment, guard against rising maintenance fees, and get the benefits deserved.  This came to the amount of $6,484, in addition to the $22,500 we had already paid.  We were also told that they would assist in the resell of our timeshare if we ever wanted to sell because they handle reselling from time to time.  This was a lie. Floyd Elliot, with Summer Winds, informed me via email that they are not licensed to do resells and that we would need to use a timeshare resell company.  As most people already know, those are all ripoff companies. It seems the only way out of the timeshare mess is to donate it to a charity and use it as a tax write off.  Besides this, we are being harassed for maintenance late fees even though we have paid the fee on time.  The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing there.  Last year they lost our fee for two months, then after I stopped payment on the check and paid over the phone, they found the check and sent it to me saying they found it under a stack of papers, two months after the payment was sent.
