We are writing to you because we feel that we were scammed by a firm that said they were located in Orlando by the name of Summit Resort Marketing on or about January 2009.

The following are the events that took place sometime mid December 2008. We received phone calls from Anthony Scott and John Reid who said that they represented Summit Resort Marketing and that they had a buyer for a timeshare we were selling located in Kissimmee FL and the buyer was offering $15,000 for the unit.

Mr. Reed said he was a licensed broker with license #TK145698. We were requested to provide our bank routing number so that proceeds from the sale could be deposited in our account. They stated that they were sending the closing papers when prepared by overnight mail and they would need to be signed in blue ink and returned by overnight mail and we should receive our money in 7-10 business days.

In January we were notified by our bank that that Summit Marketing was drafting our account for $2975. We immediately instructed the bank to stop payment. Within a few days we received a call from John Reed with Summit that we were going to be sued by the buyers of our timeshare for backing out of the sale if we did not immediately provide payment of the $2975 so that the sale could go forward. We were given instructions for a wire transfer (copy enclosed) so that the sale could move forward.

Receipt of the $2975 by Summit would result in the release of an overnight package to us for the sale of our timeshare. This item was to be sent to us January 16, 2009. As of this date no correspondence has been received from Summit repeated calls to them remain unreturned. The operator says that Mr. Reid is no longer with them and Mr. Anthony Scott will not return our calls.

Unfortunately we have nothing in writing and were given the following information over the phone.
