I recently accepted a position with SummitSource.com and I quit after the owner shorted my paycheck by nearly $200.

There are several unethical practices that I witnessed at SummitSource.com

1) Foul Language. Customers and coworkers are often referred to by foul names. The owner Alex Shiriaev can use the F-word about three or four times a sentence.

2) Deceptive Marketing. Products are listed at very low prices (I do not know about the quality), however, the shipping is very high. I was told that the high shipping was to cover handling fees, but that is a lie (see item 3).

3) Theft. The post office brought several bundles of free boxes for the shipping dept to use when shipping via USPS. However, SummitSource.com does NOT ship via USPS. Instead they fold the boxes inside-out, effectively stealing from the Post Office.

4) Theft. There seems to be an error in the computer system when receiving taxable orders through PayPal. That is PayPal and the SummitSource system both apply taxes to the order. So, the customer ends up paying the taxes twice and SummitSource pockets the additional taxes.

5) Theft. A few orders come through the system where a customer wants to put additional purchases onto their order. SummitSource charges the customer for full shipping on a second order, but then ships the product together and pockets the savings.

6) Paranoid Behavior. The owner Alex Shiriaev is using company funds to purchase large numbers of Gold Coins to prepare for the day when the US dollar is devalued. As a consequence, the company accountant has to manipulate funds and delay payment to vendors to make payroll.

7) Paranoid Behavior. There is also a belief among the employees that the owner is also purchasing large amounts of weapons and shipping them to a property he owns in Panama. I don't know about the veracity of this claim.

8) Theft. Most shipping companies have a budget to satisfy customer complaints. SummitSource owners take this money from their employee's paycheck. That is, provided they don't completely ignore the customer.

9) Alex Shiriaev has violated several laws in the US and Canada.
9a) He has illegally sold Direct TV satellites to Canadians.
9b) The US government provided the funds to purchase 2 converter boxes for each household that requested them. Some households only purchased one, but his company ALWAYS took the money for two. He is presently under investigation. They have a large stack of orders from customers who qualified for the free converter boxes. SummitSource has not returned the shipping fees they paid, nor have they shipped the converter boxes because the government will NOT give them any more taxpayer money. They blame the government, however, it is their unethical practices that lost their government contract.

10) The owner's son, Nick, is a drug dealer and comes to work noticeably under the influence.

11) The owner refuses to hire women (except one family member). He stated to me that he can NOT tolerate the [emotional baggage] that women bring to the work place. [emotional baggage] implies foul language!

Ridiculous, False, & Malicious Report Filed By Unstable Ex-Employee

AUTHOR: Summitsource - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, July 29, 2009

I am not even sure how to reply to this utterly ridiculous report that creates libel against my company. This report was created by a disgruntled ex-employee that was fired from our company because of poor work performance. He was never shorted anything that he earned nor deserved. He seems to have an unstable personality and has posted numerous offensive lies.

We have been in business for over 30 years. We have over 100,000 happy customers that purchase from our website each year. We do not participate in any deceptive marketing nor have inflated shipping costs. If we did, our business would not be growing and we would not be gaining new customers.

ALL of the other claims in this report do not even deserve a reply. They are absolutely FALSE. To prove this, he stated under point 3 that we do not ship via USPS and that we steal boxes from them. You can go onto our website and see that UPS and USPS are our two main shipping methods. The post office drops off free boxes for us to use because of the volume we ship with USPS.
