Sun Auto Sales sold me a vehicle that seemed like a great buy with a warrenty that was supposed to cover any mechanical problems with the vehicle. Within one week of my buying this vehicle the doors began to lock on their own and they were not supposed to. There was an exhaust leak that I informed them I was worried about because of my newborn being in the vehicle. The emergency brake would not hold. The transmission would pop out of gear as you drove down the road and now it is making a squealing sound from the transmission that truely makes me uncomfortable to drive this vehicle. I have reported these problems multiple times to the car dealership and everytime that I take this vehicle in to have it fixed the dealership hands the vehicle right back to me saying that there was nothing wrong that they had to fix. Yet all of these problems still exist with my vehicle.
My neighbors had the same type of problem with the same company when they bought a vehicle from Sun Auto Sales within weeks after I bought mine.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

One Big Question!

AUTHOR: Jim - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, April 02, 2006

Sara:

Of course every dealer should be selling cars which are mechanically sound and free of known problems. We as consumers should take whatever steps are necessary to protect our own interests. Did YOU have this car checked out by a mechanic OF YOUR CHOICE? Probably not. Now, you have an expensive lesson to learn.

Sara, next time be a SMART consumer...

1. Always have the car checked out by a mechanic OF YOUR CHOICE! If the dealer won't let you do this or in some way prevents you from doing this...WALK OUT!

2. If you or your mechanic find problems with the car, DO NOT, repeat, DO NOT buy the car, sign anything or put down ANY money until and unless the dealer fixes the problem and YOUR mechanic again checks out the repairs! If the dealer gives you some song and dance why he can't make the repairs unless you agree to buy, WALK OUT!
If the dealer wants you as a satisfied repeat customer, he will make the repairs.

Sara, if you browse thru these reports on this website you will see the majority of used car buying problems would not exist if the buyer would have followed these simple guidelines. I hope your future buying experiences will be guided accordingly.
