On November 21, 2014, I ordered a Dyson DC-59 vacuum cleaner from this company via Amazon.com. This vacuum cleaner is advertised by Dyson to have enough power in its battery to last 26 minutes.
The vacuum cleaner arrived on November 23, 2014. I unpackaged it saving all of the packing material. I charged the battery for 24 hours as instructed by the vacuum cleaner's instruction booklet.
My wife attempted to vacuum the 3 rooms in our downstairs which total less than 800 square feet. In no more than 10 minutes, the battery was dead. Clearly this was not acceptable.
I contacted this merchant via Amazon's "Contact Dealer" webpage as this dealer does not advertise his email address, his telephone number or his street address anywhere on Amazon's website. I explained the situation to the dealer telling him that the battery did not hold its charge even after charging it for 24 hours. I requested to return the vacuum cleaner for a full refund of the purchase price I paid, $409.00. He agreed to accept the return.
I packaged the vacuum cleaner up in its original box after cleaning as best I could. I returned the vacuum cleaner that same day via USPS Priority mail.
On November 25, 2014, tracking showed that the vacuum cleaner had arrived. On November 27th, I checked my bank account and saw that I still had not received my refund. I again contacted the dealer using Amazon's "Contact Dealer" webpage and asked when I could expect my refund since he had now had the vacuum cleaner in his possession for 2 days. H replied that it took 2 weeks to process returns.
I informed him that 2 weeks was unacceptable. Why should I wait 2 weeks to get my money back when it only took 2 days for him to get his vacuum cleaner back. I threatened to file a complaint with Amazon and this website if the money was refunded immediately.
He then agreed to refund the money in one business day.
Today, December 2, 2014, I received an email from Amazon stating that the dealer had refunded $286.30. I paid him $409.00 for what I considered a defective vacuum cleaner since it did not live up to its advertised battery charged time of 26 minutes.
This dealer still owes me $122.70. I have filed a formal compalint against him with Amazon.com and with the Better Business Bureau.
I recommend that people who find my complaint with ripoffreport.com avoid purchasing anything from this dealer who sells on Amazon.com under the trade name "I LOVE YOU" ( ironic that a company would call itself that name...I can see why now, they love you because they love to rip you off.)
