I received a phone call from a gentleman who asked me about my timeshare. Once he knew I had a timeshare that I wanted to sell he proceded to tell me that he had a buyer that was interested right away. The gentleman was calling for Sun Property Networks.

His name was James and he was a fast talker. He told me that all I needed to do was to pay him upfront $1297.00. Thinking that I could trust him I gave him a credit card and followed his instructions. Boy was that a mistake.

He said that the upfront money was so we could be listed in his companies advertising, but he had a buyer already standing by.

Anixious to sell we did all the paperwork and sent it back right away. They always need everything done quickly. After waiting a day or two I started to call James, but would get no where with him.

This happened in November of 2008 and I am still waiting. I just recently received another phone call from another company doing the same exact thing. I think there needs to be something done with these type of crooks.

What is Rescinding a timeshare?

AUTHOR: VickyF - ()

POSTED: Friday, June 20, 2014

What is Rescinding a timeshare? Rescinding a timeshare is a legal way to cancel a timeshare contract, sometimes with the possibility to get your money back and usually within a certain number of days, this depending on the place where you purchased the timeshare. In Mexico, there is a 5 day cancellation period, and even though some timeshare salespeople might ask you to sign away your right to cancel during the sales presentation, you still have the legal right to rescind.

Its sad the general public must be put in (financial) harms way by these bottom feeding scamsters.  The next call to be wary of is a call from someone purporting to assist you in reclaiming your lost funds.  Thats frequently the next move after such a scam. THOSE scammers should be hung up by their nutz, preying on those who have already been taken. Theyre worse than the first.
