Sunlife Financial short term disability insurance what a rip off ! still trying to claim pre existing conditions ! Nationwide

  Sunlife Finanial is a company my employer for some reason chose for coverage of their short term disability coverage. I work for a wonderful national company that has always been exceptional with benefits and taking care of their employees. Why they chose this company is astonishing !

  I had a serious sudden illness beginning on 3/30/2016. I filed for my benefits immiediately, I have cooperated completely as have my physicians.

  I was told by other employees not to take out the std benefit because they had had problems but I gave the company benefit of the doubt. SHAME ON ME ! i should have listened to them !

 As I am coming up on the 4th month of dealing with these people and they are still attepting to see if i have a "pre existing condition " before they will approve my claim, I reminded them there is now a law called the affordable care act which done away with pre existing conTtions, They also have not been informed of a not so new bunch of laws called HIPPA as they suposively are handing out my health information to other individuals of whom i have no knollege of who they are or why they would need my info as they cant even give me the credenials of the people !

 All i can say is if you have a choice to deal with this company or not ...DONT !
