I have been buying cars and trucks from Sunrise Ford in Ft. Pierce Florida for several years, long before Mike Wetzel and Mary Jo Tierney took the company over from Mr. Sneed. I have always been happy with the sales and service team and really have enjoyed buying my cars from Jeff Cook for the past few years. In 2002 I bought a new F-350 Super Duty 4x4 from Jeff Cook and was happy with it up till 2007. In 2007 instead of trading my truck in I bought a brand new 2007 FX4 f-350 Super Duty and gave the 02 to my son. Immediately we began having trouble with the 07. It would shake terribly when you drove on the road \at 40 MPH. The tech who looked at my truck said all long beds shake like that and that is was normal. I took ikt back several times and still it was shaking. the tech told me to put 500 lbs in the back and the shaking would stop. Shrotly after this the 02 developed a torque converter problem. We took it to Sunrise and they said we needed a new converter, so they put it in under warranty. Shortly after that another problem with the transmission seal. Also rerp[laced under warranty. Then the torque converter again. The service manager told me that it was because we took the truck off road that we blew the converter.

After this I took my 07 in for service and when I got it back the bug deflector was cracked. I opened the hood and found a snap-on ratchet and socket for removing the fuel filter under thehood which broke the deflector. I figured I was even broken deflector for 70.00 ratchet.

The 02 developed AC problems so we took it in to have it fixed the truck came back with a bolt that was too long in the compressor housing.

We then took the 02 in because it started leaving oil in drive. The tech said the drain plug was cross threaded. My son told them they should fix it free because they were the last ones who drained the oil. They refused we paid.

On a more recent visit we took it in because it just quit running. The tech replaced the rail pump on the injectors and then said that #8 injector was having problems. We replace the pump on our dime and the injector since it was out of warranty (87000 miles 7.3 Power Stroke Diesel).

We took the truck home and had to take a 76 mile trip the next day. On the trip the truck blew white smoke at idle and ran rough. We returned 4 days later and took the truck to Sunrise Ford. The Tech said that #8 injector was faulty and they would replace it. They did and then two days later we called to see how the work was progressing. Brian the service manager said that the tech said that it still was blowing white smoke. They would advise. The tech called and said that the Turbo had dusted and that it destroyed #8 cylinder so that it was losing compression. Brian told us we needed a new engine $12,000.00 installed plus another 400.00 for a new turbo. My son told them that the engine was never fixed when it was in for the injector so they should cover at least part of it. Sunrise Ford said no. So we exhausted our calls to Mike Wetzel and no help. We then decided to get a second opinion so we called Ford and told them we would be taking it somewhere else. we arranged to pick up the truck and when we did we drove it home and it ran terrible. we heard some strange noises so we checked the oil. No oil on the dipstick so we called Sunrise back and Brian said that probably the tech put the wrong dipstick in the truck and that it happens all the time. We called Mike wetzel again and he said it was all our fault since we should not have went on our trip the next day. we told him we did not see the white smoke on the way home from the dealership. He gave us the name of his attorney, a Steve Tierney in Ft pierce Fl. ( married to Mary Jo Tierney the President of Sunrise Ford).

We then called Ford Motor Company since Mike Wetzel said that we could not have the certfication that the tech had with speaking with his attorney. FOMOCO appologized and opend an investigation and told us that their dealerships must give us any info we request.

We have a Diesel Specialist tearing the truck down next week to see what is the story.

Long and short Don't buy from this company.
