I have had an awful expereince with Fenwake Corporation, (dba Sunrise Student loan Services). I was promised help to stop my wage garnishment, and tax offset, due to default student loans. They informed me that the entire process takes 60-90 days to complete, and after that point, my wages garnishment will stop, and my tax refunds will not be offset. I paid this company almost $300 for this service.

I was lied to, and misled many times. I was told many times that they would set reminders to contact me back at certain dates, and I never received calls back. I left message after message, and did not receive calls back. AWFUL customer service, AWFUL busniess ethics, and AWFUL communication.

This company preys on people in bad situations, and takes their money, and offers nothing in return but undue stress. I was promised a 100% money back guarantee if they cannot help me and my situation, and after 6 months of undue stress, lies and being misled, I requested the refund, only to be denied. I then had the "Managing Partner" email me, telling me that he had reviewed my account, and gave me a timeline of events that had happened with my account, proving that they cannot help me, but still, they refuse to provide me with a refund.

Stay away from thsi company!!! I know there are others out there in the same situation as me, and I am more than willing to start a class-action lawsuit against this predatory company. Feel free to get in touch with me.

Issue Resolved Amicably

AUTHOR: Bobby J - ()

POSTED: Monday, March 31, 2014

To Whom it may concern,

Today I was issued a full refund of my payment, that I made to Sunrise Student Loan Services (aka FenWake Corporation), and the check cleared.

Although I personally have no reason to continue business with this company, as I have resolved the issue by oher means, I would like to announce to the people reviwing this article, that after some time, they did honor their 100% money back guarantee.

Good Luck to anyone having default student loan issues like I have. I know it is a stressful situation, but there are ways to make the isue less stressful.

Regards,

A difficult consolidation

AUTHOR: Don - ()

POSTED: Friday, March 28, 2014

Bobby J.

First, Bobby we want to apologize for all of the difficulty you went through and to let you know that we have issued you a full refund, as you already know.

Second, so you know how hard we actually worked on your account to get your Federal student loans consolidated we would like to recap the time line of events recorded here at Sunrise and all of the challenges we incurred in consolidating your loans.

Here is what happened:

1. On the 12th of September 2013 you contracted with us to consolidate your loans and you were given a discounted hardship fee due to your extreme situation.

2. On the 22nd of October we had received your qualifying payment allowing us to begin work on your account.  (Remember, we do not ask for full payment to do our work but only enough to cover our expenses in preparing your loan documents.)

3. We followed up to do a loan review with you and we did not hear back from you until the 18th of November.  On that day, we completed a loan review with you and we decided together that you should be on an income based repayment plan.

4. On the 19th of November (the day following your review) your loan documents were sent to you for review and signature.

5. Your final payment cleared on the 21st of November.

6.  On the 3rd of December we received your loan documents back from you and we sent an email to you advising as such.

7. On the 3rd of December (that same day) your loan documents we're sent to the US Department of Education.

8. Loan verification certificate REQUEST was sent to your servicer from the US Department of Education on the 18th of December.

9. On the 13th of January we contacted the US Department of Education to check the status of your consolidation loan and to see if the LVC's had been responded to yet.  We determined that your loan verification certificates had not yet been received from your servicer.

10. You called us on the 16th of January for status on your consolidated.  We determined that your loans had be transferred to the guarantor.  Your servicer misinformed the US Department of Education that the loans were paid off, in full.

11.  We submitted information regarding your guarantor agency to the US Department of Education, however, intervening time the US Department of Education cancelled your consolidation.

12. On the 28th of January we were made aware the US Department of Education cancelled your consolidation. After obtaining this new information we contacted you the same day and resubmitted your consolidation application to Fedloan Servicing.  Once the electronic submission was completed, Fedloan Servicing would have sent you an email confirming the submission.

13. On 11th of February we contacted Fedloan Servicing who stated we did not have authorization to speak on your behalf. We went on to resend the third party authorization form.

14. On 19th of February you contacted us to check on the status of your consolidation process and were advised the submission for consolidation was made to Fedloan Servicing on 01/28/2014 (which we advised you on that same a day). You, also, requested the Department of Education's telephone number which was provided to you.

15. On the 20th of February we verbally advised you, your current guarantor agency did not respond to the loan verification certificate as of yet.

16. On the 21st of February you contacted us to cancel your consolidation since US Department of Education and Sallie Mae did not have any information regarding your account. The US Department of Education misinformed you since your information is still in a cancelled state with them as of today's date.

17. As of 24th of February you spoke with the a retention specialist for approximately 30 minutes informing you of why to continue to move forward with taking your life back.  You agreed to continue.

18. On the 3rd of March you submitted an address change request.

At this point we are simply waiting for The US Department of Education to issue the check for the funding phase.  You were almost consolidated!

19. On the 27th of March you called us and canceled and filed this complaint on Ripoff Report.

20. On the 28th of March you were issued a full refund.

In summary, there was a great deal of confusion on your account external to Sunrise.  This was further exacerbated by the multiple calls you placed to Fed Loan Servicing, confusing the issue.  This is why our service agreement clearly states that we handle all communication with lenders, servicers, and guarantors.

As is clearly illustrated by the above, it is very challenging at times to navigate the consolidation process.  We try to do our best to meet and exceed client expectations, but there are things beyond our control.

Finally, when you canceled you were only a few days away from your loan payoffs from being issued and your consolidation was to have been completed.
