SUNSET ELECTRONICS PHONY WARRANTY ONLY ONE YEAR IN LIEU OF MANUFACTURE'S WARRANTY SIX YEAR WARRANTY ROCKAWAY PARK New York

Purchased a Tamron 18-270mm lens from Amazon who brought in a second party, that of Sunset Electronics for $488.90 including tax.Upon inspectingthe lens and the package, I noticed that there wasn't a warranty card nor a registration card from Tamron USA.

I called Sunset Electronics informing them of the fact that I did No recieve a warranty or a registration card. I was told by Sunset not to worry as they warrant the lens for one year. When I told them that Tamron USA warrants all of their lenses for 6 years their response was that Sunset offers a 1 year warranty.

At this point, I called Amazon and related the story to them as well as requesting a return mailer. They opened a file. I did not wait for their mailer and returned the package at my expense. Sunset Electronics issued a refund for $408.92. immediately, I complained to Amazon who forwarded my complaint to Sunset. A Michael Rich from Sunset sent me a e-mail requesting that I call him to discuss the matter. I did.

Mr. Rich stated that he would refund the correct amount if I changed my 1 star rating (1 out of a possible 5) to a much better rating. I refused!!! After my refusal,Sunset Electronics claimed that they withheld $79.98 as a 15% restocking fee. Again, I complained to Amazon. As a result of contacting Amazon, I received an addtional refund of $74.00 giving me a total refund of $482.92, nearly $6.00 below what I have been charged. 

This is outrageous!!! First, Sunset doesn't deliver a Tamron lens with a Tamron 6 year warranty. Second, they tried to extort a good rating from me by withholding monies.
