I am so angry I do not know what to do.  I have paid my auto loan for 6 years faithfully without being late.  This month, I ended up ebing in my 10 day grace perios (still not late mind you!) when I started getting harrassing phone calls from the COLLECTIONS department. I received on every day for 3 days in a row even after I called them each and every time telling them the payment will be made on a certain date (before my grace period is up).  I cannot believe the nerve and gall of them!  I also sent emails to their public relations 3 times to no avail All I got in return was a standard reply.

 

I went PHYSICALLY into my local Suntrust bank with my emails showing I was in contact with them filing gormal complaints and left them for proof PLUS I paid my account in cash before my grace period ended.  What do you think happened?? Here it is 4 days later and I get an envelope stating it is COLLECTIONS AGAIN trying to collect a debt with LATE charges on it.  I called once again and blasted the young lady that answered the phone .  I apologized to her knowing it was not her fault that the Suntrust bank has no morals or consideration for anyone. They steal the taxpayers money , then harrass them when they are within 2 payments of paying off the loan??? I don't think so.  Such arrogant behaviour will not be tolerated. 

PLEASE!  Anyone banking with them, PLEASE transfer your monies and your accounts or you will be real sorry youdidn't.  They will come after you fiercely and try to steal your car if you are anywhere close to paying it off.

 

Remember..I warned you against Suntrust.  They are NOT to be trusted.

 

To this day, NO ONE except COLLECTIONS has contacted...I made 3 written complaints, 4 phone calls to collections and one complaint in person and I am still being harrassed even after PAYING them.

AMAZING customer relations...NOT!

7 contacts in 4 days not 10!  I would also like to state that I did get a letter in the mail from Suntrust demanding late fees when I paid before late charges were to be assessed as per my loan agreement.

Suntrust is not to be trusted.  Automation is not an excuse to be rude and obnoxious when one gets a live person on the phone, or in front of them.

I wouldn't bank there or get another loan from this place if it was the only place left.

Suntrust really does not know how to treat customers in my opinion.  They need a refresher course on people skills and get rid of the automations...this is where they will dig themselves in their own graves..

Seriously you need to chill out before you "pop a gasket".

They are calling you because you are late, and yes you were late.  It was due on a specific date, if you don't pay it by that date it is considered late.  The only "grace" period you have is from the late fees.  It's all computerized, they don't care if you are on payment 1 of 72 or 70 of 72.  The letter you got was most likely already in process, in fact it may have already been in the mail.

Now, as long as you had the payment in before the late payment would have been assessed they should not charge you a late fee.  If they did actually charge a late fee(not just saying that they would if you didn't pay) then you have a valid complaint and they should correct it.  However, when you talk to them you need to use your "indoor" voice.  As just screaming at them is going to get you no where.

And I am sorry but 3 calls and a letter do not sound like harrasement or arrogant behaviour.  Especially when you were late.  If anything I would say that you are the one harrassing them.  As near as I can figure you "blasted" the employee you talked to(of course you say you appologied after that), have written 3 complaints, and additional complaint in person, and made 4 phone calls.  So in about a 10 day period you contacted them 8 times one way or another.
