I am posting this on behalf of my grandson. Last summer he went to this company for a vehicle. He went alone at only 18 years old. They took total advantage of that and convinced him to purchase a car that had astronomical payments. $500 every two weeks. He had never purchased a vehicle from a dealer before and did not know any better. They took the only car he had as a trade in along with every penny he had on him. Well when he came in to make his payment, when he did not have the entire payment..he had half or more...they would not give him any kind of help whatsoever. They took the car away from him right then and there. Made him take all his stuff out of it and call someone for a ride. It had only been a couple of weeks. Not only did they take the new car away, but they had his old car and all his money. Not to mention that the manager that was there was EXTREMELY rude and mean to him about the whole thing. Even the female clerk in the office apologized for the rudeness. This is a perfect example of a rude..power driven individual taking complete advantage of a young "kid" and totally ripping him off. I think it was disgusting and uncalled for. I believe that man has absolutely no business in a field where he can treat the public so horribly. All they did was take as much from that poor kid as possible and give him NOTHING!!! Now here it is not quite a year later and he still has no car and no money as he is a new father and it is much harder to save now. I would absolutely never...ever...suggest that anyone attempt to purchase a car from superior car credit in Freeport Illinois. The worst.

The truth hurts...

AUTHOR: Robert - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, July 09, 2017

When someone posts the truth of course it hurts, and contrary to what you want the other posters hit the nail on the head.

I'm not going to tell you that the dealer is totally innocent in this, or that  your son is totally at fault.  The reason is that I was not there and do not know the entire situation.  But the fact is you weren't there when he bought the car or "tried" to make a payment. You are only getting the one-sided story your grandson is telling you.  He wasn't kidnapped and taken to this dealer by force. Why was he at the car lot if he wasn't looking for a car?  If comprehending paying $500 every two weeks for a car was too much for him that is not the fault of the dealer. When you fail to make even the first payment why would you expect them to be nice?

Why is he stil without a car. If he even saved a portion of that you can find decent cars for under $4,000. Which since he no longer had this $500 every two week payment should have been VERY easy for him to save up for over the last year.

The fact that you are the one who is writing this report, just continues to show how you are enabling him and making excuses for him instead of actually guiding him. By the way the only one who has shown any anger issues in this report is you.

And don't go with the "Oh you must work for them" as that is SOP on this site and that accusation is very common when someone is told something they don't want to hear. But if you actually looked around this site you would see how wrong you are with that as well.

Jim and Coast are correct

As long as you make excuses for this "kid", he will continue to make mistakes. If he had no clue what he was doing, someone should have went with him.

By the way, if he has no car and no money, and appearently no sense, why does he have a child? I suggest your family try to get your stuff together while you still can, instead of complaining on this board.

Not a rip-off

“$500 every two weeks. He had never purchased a vehicle from a dealer before and did not know any better.”

What part of, “$500 every two weeks” did he not understand? Was it the $500 or the every two weeks?

“It had only been a couple of weeks.”

He defaulted on the first or second payment. That was irresponsible.

“This is a perfect example of a rude..power driven individual taking complete advantage of a young ‘kid’ and totally ripping him off.”

Someone should tell him that he’s a man now. Are you holding him back?

He doesn't even live at home anymore dude no I'm not holding him back you know there is no sense whatsoever and arguing with somebody that's already got anger issues all I wanted to do is make sure the general public knew that regardless of the situation or how it played out the manager was a complete a****** that treated a customer like crap I'm sure it wasn't the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last time and I wouldn't advise anybody to do business with them plain and simple. Now you can take your anger issues somewhere else

I must also assume that you do work for them why else would anyone be so bitter and rude about something like I said he was 18 years old he had never bought a car before and the only help that I meant when I said they didn't help him was it maybe they could have given him a couple of days to come up with the rest of the money which I believe he told them he was going to do anyway so I have a feeling you may have just lied when you said you didn't work for the company because if you don't work for that company and you're still This Bitter and rude about what I said then you've got a problem that needs to be addressed

Responsibility

AUTHOR: Jim - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, July 07, 2017

Oh, I see. He's a "new father". I can only guess the circumstances! If he is that out of control with reality, perhaps he needs institutional care. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know what you can afford and no lender is in business to "help" the customer. If you need help, you see a counselor. No, I don't work for them.
