Superior Systems Inc kirby lies and illegal practices Arvada, Colorado

On March 8th I accepted a job working for Superior Systems Inc, a Kirby vaccum distributor. The group of people I was hired with started training on the 9th. During this training we were told repeatedly that 1. it was paid, 2. that it was not a door to door sales position, and they had another dept that took care of that. We were told that we would go out each day to the homes of the prescheduled demos to show off the machine, and that they would set up the 60 we needed for the month.

The training was alot of fun, and I trusted that Mike and Kyle were telling us the truth. On monday the 12th, the first day after training it was completely different. We were loaded into a van with a man named Eddie, who we had never met and taken out to Aurora Co. During the drive he told us that we were in fact going to be doing the door to door sales. He stopped for gas at 9 am and gave us a few mins to run in and find "lunch". Not an easy thing to do at a gas station.

Once we arrived in the neighborhood he had picked we were told to just ignore the no solicitation signs and knock anyway. He droped us all on a different street and drove off after stating how far he wanted us to walk. After hours of knocking on doors, being hit on and made to feel unsafe he picked us up and drove to a different neighborhood. We repeated this process for hours on end, we were never given a lunch break, or a stop to use a bathroom.

I did get one demo but was told by eddie not to finish shampooing the floor and to lie to the homeowner by saying i had because she had stated that she did not think she could afford the machine.
About 7pm he chose a neighborhood in the one of the worst areas of denver, and dropped us off again. Still no break or stop at a bathroom.

In this neighborhood I was followed by a man whose door I had knocked on, he was making comments about how he would buy the machine if I threw in other "perks". When I pointed out to Eddie that it was very unsafe to have a single women knocking on doors at night with no means of communication other then a cell phone I was laughed at.

I then sent a text msg to Mike, my trainer asking what the deal was as this was not the job we were told we would be doing and that I felt unsafe knocking on doors alone after dark. He replied with " I told u guys but you only heard what you wanted to, great attitude I am sure it will get you far in life, of maybe not that could be why you are where you are" and the next line was " who is this?"

I told him that we did not get a break or a chance to use a bathroom to which he replied " you could have asked someone when they answered the door, and we dont give breaks because you need all the hours to get your 60 demos"

Now we are all being told that we will not get paid for the time we did work because we were subcontractors and did not reach to 60 demos required. And that we should have just ignored the unsafe feeling and lack of breaks if we wanted to get paid, and maybe buy some pepper spray.

If you are a women they put you in very unsafe situations, and do not care. They are really nice and personable until you speak a complaint then they are rude and will go so far as to call the cops of you to have you removed. No breaks, no chance to use a bathroom, and dishonest about the reality of the jobs.
