Surf or Sound Realty Lost groceries for 18 people due to their malfunction. Offered us tiny compensation. Avon North Carolina

We rented Sunrise 175 for a week. The day after we arrived we informed them the refrigerator was broken, we spent the better part of 4 days trying to get any help from Surf or Sound,  in the end we ended up losing our groceries for 18 people after they told us the refrigerator was repaired (And it wasn't..)..So we lost more of our time grocery shopping and spent more money replacing the groceries. What does Surf or Sound offer us for our troubles? 400$. We spent 100$ in ice for the coolers we were forced to use alone, and easily more than 300$ to replace the food we lost to feed 18 people. I would highly recommend not renting from these people, find literally any other person to rent from. Also the rental agency threw the owners under the bus saying that the owners of Sunrise 175, would only issue 400$ of the refund (We paid $1700 for the week.) The owners are Albert and Elizabeth Zimmerman, so I would highly recommend not renting from these individuals either. Seriously, we read some of the negative reviews on here and ignored them. Don't do what we did.
