My company ALLSTAR PAINTING CO AND myself Sunny Shelton were hired by this man last year to paint the home of Stuart Surface and Sara Elgin both principle owners/ operators of a company called Surface & Young a limited liability corp.
My crew worked on his house for two weeks and nearing completion submitted an invoice for payment of services rendered. RESPONSE NO PAYMENT, NOT ONE DIME! Once we realized we had been lied to and were being RIPPED OFF! We immediately stopped work on this home located in Avon Indiana.
Upon further investigation we discovered that almost every contractor working on the house had not been PAID either partially or COMPLETELY RIPPED OF BY STUART SURFACE of SURFACE & YOUNG. So we sent legal notice and hired an attorney to collect on the THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS HE OWED US. Many hard working hoosier families and small companies were dealt tremendous hardship by this man and his company's FRAUD.
WE WERE ALL ROBBED! We,(Sunny Shelton & Allstar Painting) then filed a joint mechanics lein on the property with other contractors, namely Tim Quick Carpenter and Contractor and did this at the County Recorder's Office in Danville Indiana. Upon filing our liens we discovered through a conversation with the County Recorder that we were not ALONE IN BEING RIPPED OFF!
That Surface & Young and STUART SURFACE were one of the VERY WORST OFFENDERS IN THE COUNTY for unpaid accounts from Contractors and who have worked on His homes, having over 15 outstanding liens filed against him and just one of them for was over 30,000 dollars! (concrete company) ALL independently verifiable through the Hendricks County Property Recorder's Office.
THE MATTER IS CURRENTLY BEING INVESTIGATED BY the Attorney General of Indiana and other Police Agencies in Indiana. Hopefully we will get some financial relief this year from the tremendous hardship he has caused us all! This man has no integrity and please beware of Stuart Surface of Surface & Young homebuilders in Danville Indiana!

Mr Rex Shelton aka Sunny has not only committed fraud, but my attorney Chris Arrington has filed suit again Mr Shelton, however Mr Shelton is on the run as he has an active Felony Warrant for his arrest. If you know how to reach Mr Shelton please contact my corporate counsel at 317-745-4495. Mr Shelton had hired an attorney to represent him, but he failed to pay the attorney so he quit Mr Shelton. If you know the whereabouts of Rex aka Sonny Shelton please call 911 and tell the Police rest assured he will face maximum penalties allowed under Indiana Law! Stuart C Surface
