Surplus Alert Aka Auction Freeway Bait & Switch ripoff Internet

Have to agree with the other report I saw on here. These people claim to offer you something free, then charge you $6.19 to ship it, then offer to let you download for only $9.97 when obviously a download should be cheaper as it doesn't mean that have to ship you anything.

THEN they enroll you in something SurplusAlert.com that costs you $29.95 EVERY MONTH.

I've seen free and this doesn't sound like free to me.

To add insult to injury, nowhere on their site do they tell you how to cancel this recurring charge. They figure if you can't find it, you can't do it.

Here's what their terms say:
Term of Trial Membership and Post-Trial Membership Fee
Upon submitting a request for Trial Membership, a Member ID and Password are assigned to Member and will be used to gain access to site. Only one Trial Membership per individual is allowed per year. At the end of the 14 day review period, the $29.95 monthly fee will be billed to the credit card used by Member to complete the signup process unless/until Member cancels membership or changes billing method.

Nowehere in there does it say how to cancel and nowhere in their website do they tell you how. You have to call the 800# (800-533-3330).

You've got 14 days to cancel and they make every effort to make sure you don't make it, especially with their "convenient" business hours (by telpehone).

Stay away. Beware. That bad taste in your mouth is the stink of Surplus Alert/Freeway.
