SVJ Moving & Storage Company Don't get ripped off Wyndmoor Pennsylvania

In short: Stay Away from SVJ.
We had them scheduled to arrive at 2. The day of the move they called and said the truck will arrive by noon. So we adjust our plans accordingly and then they don't even show until 2 anyway.

They arrive in a truck way too small for what we requested. So we were only able to get 60%-70% of our stuff. Not to mention, they had to repack the truck twice.

During the move they wanted to make a stop for some drinks at Wawa. However, they took longer than 45 minutes. Further delaying.

We were scheduled for 3 people, they show with 4. However neither of them were particularly experienced or even very good.

Our brand new house was decimated. Holes, scrapes, marks galore. Minor damage to our furniture and primarily in not very noticeable locations. Not a huge deal. However, my top of the line 64" HDTV? Destroyed.

So I make a claim with them and was met with considerable hostility and some BS line that they only cover $0.60 on the pound. So after a month and 4 days of putting me off they offer me $62.40. Fair market value is $3200 and replacement value is around $4500. So I tell them that is not enough and that they need to cover much more.

Two weeks go by and finally I get an email they are sending me a check but fail to mention the amount. I get the check, for $62.40 with in the memo in big letters "Payment in full for damage to TV. Claim closed".

The gall alone was astonishing. Arrogant and insulting.

Needless to say, I'm going after them. But as a warning to the rest of you. Stay away.
