Swanson Health Products Swanson charged a tax on packaged food Fargo ND

This is petty but it's the principle of the thing! In Florida there is no tax on packaged food. I ordered rice chips and rice pasta from them.  When I bought them at Whole Foods there was no tax. I received my entire order in 2 shipments and was charged .35 on both shipments even though it was one order.

I spoke to them about this and the reduced the price a bit but still charged me the .35 twice. Since WF no longer carries these food items I will be buying them from Swanson and don't want to have this hassle again. My understanding of how taxes on food works in this state is that only prepared food is taxed.

I got nowhere talking to the agent at Swanson so I am going this route. If they could legally tax packaged food the tax would have been much higher - I believe our tax is 7%.
