Sweepstakes Clearninghouse ripoff deceptive return policy Dallas Texas

My story is similar to too many other reports listed on this site. Sweepstakes Clearinghouse sent me "official credit vouchers" that I could use towards merchandise. My husband and I wanted a computer, so we sent in a $50 check for the remaining balance and of course, have not recieved a computer yet.

There was no phone number listed to call, so I asked my employer, who had a computer with the internet, to help me find a phone number. I called the company and at first, they said it must have been sent to the wrong address because it was returned. This must be one of their punch lines because when I confirmed that it was in fact my address, they then told me that I owed $557.03 before I could get the computer.

I explained that this was not at all clear when I ordered and would like my $50.00 back. They said "this company does not issue refunds." I explained that the vouchers clearly stated "I understand I have a satisfaction of merchandise or refund of money guarantee, and if not completely satisfied upon my inspection, I may return the merchandise within 30 days of delivery."

The woman on the phone explained that in order for me to recieve a refund, I must pay the $557.03 balance, recieve the product, inspect it and then return it for a refund. They will not give me my money back! This is a total scam, and of course, I have recieved many more "official credit vouchers" in the mail.
