Swift Driving Academy is Unprofessional. Swift is using false advertisement and greed tactics to line the pockets of company hierarchy. The Swift Transportation Company has hired and trained recruiters  to lure hard working unemployed Americans into an illegitame Non-accredited trucking school. Swift promises to train "students" for their new careers in only 3 weeks. It's false advertisement. I attended the Swift Academy in Millington, TN recently and it's shameful. This place deserves an audit. They falsely advertise 1 instructor to 4 student ratio. There was 2 instructors to a class of 40-50. The instructors are far from helpful. I witnessed students struggle with simple basic backing skills for days; they would request help and be told "later" and be forgotten about. For two weeks I absorbed and applied knowledge to pre-trip inspections, log books, and backing skills with only the help of my class mates. The instructors were consumed with their daily paperwork and always to busy to help 80% of the class while the other 20% took all of their time. After graduating the classroom and backing skills evaluations I was given a bus ticket home. But hold up...I was promised 3 weeks of training. After 2 weeks home I was bussed back to Millington, TN to do road training. Here's where things get way worse. I start on a Monday morning and meet my trainer ,Wayne Purvis, the most unprofessional, rude, and impulsive trainer working for Swift. I gave Swift and it's Academy the benefit of the doubt until this point. I began my road-training with a strong ambition and desire to learn and better by life as safe as possible. The day began with me being demanded to practice and learn how to control, shift, and downshift an 80,000 pound rig on the shoulder of a busy interstate. Each student literally got 45 minutes to learn how to shift and drive the tractor trailer while swerving from the shoulder in and out of interstate traffic traveling at 60-90 mph. Unsafe, unprofessional, and illegal. Impeding traffic ect. Ect. It's ridiculous. The same situation on Tuesday. In my experience it was a 1hr30min crash course on what not to do in truck driving. On Wednesday I was to evaluate my road skills, that went horrible because I wasn't taught the essentials. Steer Clear of Swift. I was promised a one week academic probation to redo my road training and never received it even after inquiring several times. I now owe $4,400 to Swift and they didn't make even the slightest effort to offer safe training. This company is sucking hundreds of people into student loans and giving them false hope.
