Swift Transportation LLC Swift offered holiday bonus and refused to pay what they offered Phoenix Nationwide

I have been working for Swift Transportation since 2008 and in December 2014 they sent me 2 messages to my Qualcomm with an offer for a holiday bonus if a "Solo company driver" ran 4000 miles from Dec 20 to Jan 3.  The bonus was $225.00 for solo drivers and they sent 2 messages regarding the offer.  The message was clear, it had my full name on it and all the details to earn the bonus.  The first message was retracted and they sent a clear and corrected offer to clear up any confusion regarding the bonus (they dropped the required miles from 4500 to 4000).

 During the time frame in question I ran just over 4600 miles and when I looked for the bonus on my check it wasn't there.  I called Swift and asked about it and they said the bonus was not offered to me.  I explained that I received 2 messages and they clearly offered me that bonus.  The payroll rep then said that the message was sent to all drivers and that the bonus does not apply to me because I am a dedicated driver (dedicated fleet).  The bonus was only for OTR drivers apparently, and yet the offer they sent twice clearly stated that the bonus was for any solo company driver who rolled 4000 miles during the time frame.

 They could have very easily spelled out that it was for OTR drivers only, but in the both offers they never had any mention of any fleet requirements other than "Company Driver".  Its a shame that Swift has elected to burn their drivers over a lousy $225.00 and lose the loyalty of their drivers.  Offering a bonus to those drivers that give service to their customers during the peak holiday season and then weasel out of paying the driver is just a horrible way to treat your drivers or to run a business.

 Maybe it's time to start looking around for a better job with a company that will uphold their promises.
