Swift Transportation Gross incompetence, dishonesty, ripoff Phoenix Arizona

For 2.5 years recruited truck drivers for Swift Transportation.

April 5(?), 2004 (a Monday) was summoned to Investigations Office and brow-beaten for an hour or so by two company officials, who accused me of committing a felony by attempting to hire a "friend" and falsifying his job application. Was told I could immediately quit my job or they would call the police and have me put in jail. (As a single parent this scared me to death, for who would pick up my son after school, and what would he think about his Daddy being in jail?) I refused to knuckle under, so was sent home. Four days later (Friday afternoon) my "manager" phoned to ask me to return to work.

About two weeks later, "manager" called me to his office and had me sign a piece of paper that put a black mark on my record. Claimed I had "committed a felony" and that I was "a threat to Swift Transportation". This happened in the presence of another Recruiting "Manager".

TRUTH is everything about the individual I had attempted to hire had been placed in the open & I was in "manager's" office when he called & received permission to hire. Candidate was also a witness to interchange, as he was sitting just outside "manager's" office.

Late 2005 I was "written up" for Sexual Harassment by same "manager". He claimed (I still believe he concocted this out of whole cloth; that no complaint was filed) I had pointed to a female employee's "breast" (Which one?) and then made "squeezing gestures" on my own chest. The "manager" stated I then walked over to the employee & "waived" (college-educated but can't spell) money at her, saying I could buy her.

A month or two after the Sexual Harassment charge I was ordered to Swift's nurse's office to have my mouth swabbed out so I could be tested for alcohol. The test came back negative, and the nurse said "If this isn't Employee Harassment I've never seen it."

I have paperwork to prove everything stated above. Plus, the individual I attempted to hire can easily be found.

I consider Swift Transportation guilty of providing a Hostile Workplace Environment, and have contacted an attorney, but am yet debating whether to pursue the issue.
