Sylvia Fay/Lee Genick & Assoc. Casting SCAM!!! NEW YORK CITY, New York

I believe i made a Mistake about Sylvia fay castings and I just sent them an email to have them take down the complaint however i am not pleased that i have been charged $9.98 by agency pro for the last 10 to 12 months i believe. so i extend my apologies to the Sylvia Fay castings Employees and members and owners I made a mistake when i wrote the report and hopefully it can be taken down soon.

I'm sorry that you don't like using our online platform.  The reasons we started using AgencyPro are simple.  Our database, including your profile, can now be viewed by any directors/producers/costume departments etc. with an internet connection on any computer or mobile device that we give client access.  By now, almost all casting offices are using something similar, if they are not, then they will not survive long.  The producers and directors that we work for now EXPECT this kind of service from the background casting companies that they hire.  You can opt-out of getting marketing emails anytime that you like by clicking the "unsubscribe" link found at the bottom of the marketing emails that you received.  Opting out of the marketing emails will NOT stop you from receiving our casting notices.  All registered performers are considered equally for work whether they decide to activate their AgencyPro membership or not.  You have not responded to any of our casting notices in almost 5 months.  If you don't respond to our notices, how do you expect to get work?  Having a profile in our system is now & will always be FREE.  You already have a FREE online profile that you can update any time you like & you can receive up to the minute casting notices by email or text message if you choose.  It pains me to see that someone that has worked with our company as long as you have would feel the need to post something negative about our company on a website called "Ripoff Report".  You know, as well as anyone, that our company has never asked you for ANY money and we are certainly not trying to scam anyone.

Why do you have to get involved with Agency Pro in the first place? I was registered with them and they kept pestering me to activate my account.I submitted to a few roles with you ( through them) but you never called me. They (Agency Pro ) makes it sound like if you don't update and pay a fee to them, you won't get called. You were once the busiest and best agency in New York, again why do you have to be involved with Agency Pro in the first place? Go back to the old way Lee, and be the best again!

In response to Valon Rekaliu's scam report about our company we would like to explain the following. We have been doing background casting for film & television for over 40 years.  We are casting directors, NOT an employment agency.  We do not charge anything to be registered with our office. Once registered with our office actors get a FREE "not-active" AgencyPro profile in our database. AgencyPro hosts our database & they provide marketing services to actors.  Per our website (WWW.SYLVIAFAYCASTING.COM) & the marketing notices sent out by AgencyPro "All registered actors will be considered for work equally by Sylvia Fay/Lee Genick and Associates Casting whether they decide to activate their AgencyPro membership or not".  It sounds like Mr. Rekaliu decided to activate his AgencyPro membership & therefor paid AgencyPro a fee, NOT US. The fees quoted in Mr Rekaliu's report are higher than what AgencyPro actually charges for their marketing services.  We have never, & will never, collect any monies from actors for a casting service fee, registration fee, digital processing fee or anything else.  It is FREE to register with our company.  Actors that work with our company NEVER pay us anything.  We have over 15,000 registered actors in our database.  Of those registered, a relatively small percentage have chosen to activate their AgencyPro membership.

It seems that Mr. Rekaliu is upset because he was not cast in the film "Man On A Ledge".  Part of being an actor is knowing that you will not get EVERY role that you want.  As mentioned previously, we have over 15,000 actors in our database, so not every actor works on every project that we cast.

In conclusion, we would hope that anyone that is interested in registering with our office does some research about our company.  You will find that we are the most experienced background casting company on the east coast.  We have been done casting for hundreds of films & television shows & we are not trying to "scam" anyone.
