My experience working at SysproTech or Syspro Technologies (ITProGlobal) located at 6545 Preston Rd, Plano, TX involved very low pay, constant provocation (harassment), and reprehensible training and supervision. The CEO named Shri created a very hostile workplace environment. Training and supervision involved being ignored for days on end and then abruptly bombarded with disorganized, unclear, and overbearing directions, irritatingly pointless busy-work assignments that went nowhere, thought policing, and loud ear-piercing whining, shouting, and complaining coming from the CEO. The two top managers’ shrill vocal tones were like nails on a chalkboard making them unapproachable and distressing to be near. During my time there I had to endure working directly under the CEO who on a weekly basis used an offensive, hostile, and inappropriately loud tone of voice with me (e.g., yelling, shrieking, screeching, shouting, nagging, whining, etc). Too many times supervision and directives were delivered in an inappropriately loud, near shouting voice which was inappropriate for a small and quiet office. Every week I came into work he was frequently late and spent much of his time shouting at off-shore employees while on the phone. He attempted to bait me into arguments by making repetitious, harassing, and unwelcomed criticisms and petty false accusations: I refused to argue and remained calm and professional during those outbursts. These pathetic managers come from a third world country (India) and seem to have absolutely no clue on how to manage employees or their own work.
Additionally very offensive, enraged, and hostile facial expressions were used to bully me into a permanent state of agreeable submission. I had to endure hateful and startling browbeating, hostile stares, cutting eye glances, stabbing glares, dirty looks, and ominous body language that did not help to build employer-employee trust or rapport. Almost every other week there was a crisis manufactured by the leader. One of his methods was to look for something to get angry about so that he would have a pretext to excuse his outbursts of rage on. When enraged the leader would pound his fists as loudly as possible on his desk and shout at the top of lungs. He would also pound his hands as loudly as possible on the wall making a terribly embarrassing and distressing scene. I wasted most of my time politely nodding my head in agreement in order to appease the offensive tyrant. There wasn’t a worker’s handbook when I was there or a thorough task list provided to me upon the first week of hire so that I could consult with independently. Tasks and projects seemed to be haphazardly thrown together at the last minute making for an inappropriately nervous and bewildering experience. I was impatiently rushed and interrupted during many of my tasks. Easy office work was made as difficult, annoying, and confusing as possible by the pathetic managers.
The CEO aggressively and unproductively micromanaged me on a weekly basis, he frequently barged in or stormed into my office with some type of crisis to complain about, he hovered inches over me, and breathed his putrid smelling breath on me: He also often had foul smelling body odor. He gibbered and asked the same questions endlessly regarding work topics that he should have already known the answers to (which indicated to me that he was very unprepared and forgetful), he was constantly forgetful, and on rare occasion he rudely complained like a spoiled child about having to train thoroughly. On a weekly basis he found trivial problems to whine, gripe, yell, and criticize about which I found to be insulting, offensive, and distressing. He asked stabbing questions that he already knew the answers to (indicating hostility, forgetfulness, and a poor attention span). He falsely accused in loud, shrill, and offensive vocal tones. Every week he stomped and sulked throughout the office while blurting out contradictory and repetitious directives. While I worked on tasks I was rudely interrupted and distracted by management who appeared to be bored or angry. On one or two occasions I was the target of ethnically biased humor, mocking, and sarcasm. Of course I was not able to joke back as that would be seen as unprofessional on my part. The top managers are from a third world country and there are many jokes that can be made about them.
The CEO did not allow for my communication to be heard, I was frequently interrupted, ignored, or shouted down. He appeared to have a very poor attention span, selective memory, severe hyperactivity, and an inability to concentrate which made meaningful two-way communication impossible. He absurdly demanded face to face meetings every single day in which he did all of the gibbering, interrogating, and accusing. During face to face meetings I frequently felt as if I were in trouble rather than respected as an employee. I was bullied to ask questions and to ask for more work but when I asked or made requests they were rarely answered.
He frequently made excuses and defenses about everything work related which insulted my logic. I had to put up with confusing obfuscation, doublespeak, and tedious monologues littered with silly business clichés on a weekly basis. All of these deplorable micro-management methods set me up for failure and I was forced into an unproductive and distressing co-dependent work relationship with the pathetic leadership.
During my time I encountered a bizarre and oppressive workplace environment that involved inappropriate and unproductive panic and fear. The top leaders either directly blamed me or used stabbing insinuations or stabbing questions to insult my logic and work ethic. I did not feel that the brief amount of mentoring they offered was helpful or professional although I made the best of it. In fact their professional mentoring was a massive failure; however, while I was aware that I was being provoked I remained calm and professional. I arrived on time everyday and gave it my best.
Since the majority of my feedback went ignored or criticized not many workplace improvements or progress was ever made. I was forced to engage in frustrating circular conversations each week. My contributions were regularly ignored or discredited. Every bit of their management involved belittling, condescending, and patronizing speech, blaming, inappropriate and offensive outbursts of rage, catastrophizing, panicking, hysteria, invalidation, and no-win scenarios. They set unrealistic and unachievable goals, focused excessively on overwhelming amounts of frivolous details that did not advance my performance or career, they rarely gave compliments or praise, and they frequently opposed my initiative.
Employees need to protect themselves and be familiar with terms such as constructive discharge, intentional infliction of emotional distress, undue influence, and hostile work environment. Employees can get further information from EEOC, Texas Workforce Commission (Civil Rights and Labor Rights Department) and ACLU. Be sure to report workplace hostility and harassment online.
