System Pavers has been running a hiring scam for the last 6 months to collect names and bios on people looking for work to try and turn them to clients. They prey on the unemployed, desperate, and those looking to better themselves. With 10x 1000's of people who have applied to their Management Trainee position they have built quite a pool of perspective clientel. They have still not hired anyone for this position. System Pavers is also looking to rid themselves of their competition. They cannot suceed by price or product, so they have turned to burning their customers with false promises, and using unskilled day laborors to do a half a*s job. You will be disappointed if you hire this group, and rest assured they will use you, your family, and your neighbors to make a dime and a product that is a commidity and can be done for half the price by your local home depot or lowes. Those unfortunate to have applied for a job with System Pavers, I'm sorry your time was wasted and your information was taken for their gain. You just have to sell.

I worked for Doug and Larry for 3 years.  Bottom line, just like any sales job, is that you have to produce.  I made more money working for SP than just about any other sales job I have had.  Great training, and great company.  If you cannot follow instruction, play by the rules, and sell, then don't bother applying.

Reputable company

To the first report, John.. Why would a company prey on the unemployed and create a data base of people who are unemployed and can not afford they're beautiful work? Pretty simple... That statement in itself shows how out of touch your report really is. Your completely wrong and it is very unprofessional and illegal to post untrue slanderous statements. It looks to me that you are upset that you were not hired and made this whole thing up. I suggest you fix the problem since you have no evidence and you a obviously jaded about not getting the job. Since your not a customer, that must the motive behind this bogus report.

Response from Larry Green

Mr. Anderson,

I do not in fact recall who you are which may be on account of the fact that I left South Africa 22 years ago. It's clear that you do not know me very well at all or you would know that I do not turn my back on people or run away from situations.

I never "fled" from SA. I have family there and continue to visit every year. In fact I'll be in Johannesburg at the end of April 2014 and would welcome the opportunity to sit down with you face to face to fully understand your story that you claim took place some 22 years ago. Furthermore should I have in any way treated you or anyone else unfairly I would look to make matters right albeit 22 years later. That's how I operate.

Since you chose to publicly make disparaging and untrue statements about me personally it is also important to set the record straight:

I founded SA Paving in South Africa in 1978 at the age of 21. I certainly can't claim to be perfect and I was young over the 14 years that I ran and built that company into the leader in its field and until I handed over the reigns mid-1992 to Mario Montanari, who prior to that had been the COO of the organization.

Mario offered ongoing employment opportunities to staff, contractors and continued to do business with our suppliers after my departure. I continue to have good relationships and stay in touch with many of those people who have visited with me in the USA over the past 20 years. Also, as part of our arrangement in transferring ownership, Mario continued to provide outstanding service to our customers and there were never any customers left with incomplete projects. All warranties were always honored and the company continued to flourish under his leadership. Regrettably, Mario passed away suddenly approximately 8 years ago but the business and the brand continues to exist and is owned today by his surviving family members. None of this would have been possible had people been screwed along the way.

Furthermore I founded System Pavers from scratch together with a business partner in California in 1992 and for the past 22 years we have built the organization to be the leader in our field and the largest of its kind in the United States. Companies and people who do not behave honestly and ethically don't have a long run and I'm quite proud of the fact that my career in the same industry has spanned 36 years.

The reason I left S. Africa is that I didn't like the unfair political system at the time and that the economy was in tatters. Violent crime was and continues to be a threat to everyone who lives there. From the mid-80's with economic sanctions in place through my departure in 92 all businesses had to cut staff and trim overhead to survive and sometimes that may not have felt good for people who lost their jobs. I took the risk and went to a new country with very little capital and no guarantees of outcome with which to start a new life for myself and my family.

I take great pride in the honesty and integrity of the organizations I have built and will not stand for having my name and business slandered publically. While I cannot be sure what caused you to disparage me from the other side of the world, I’d suggest that you act with caution as to your accusations and misstated lies as you subject yourself to being held legally accountable in this regard.

Please feel free to email me at Larry.green@systempavers.com should you wish to follow up on my offer to meet in April.

Sounds typical

AUTHOR: Errol Anderson - ()

POSTED: Monday, January 20, 2014

If this is the same paving Larry Green who fled South Africa for the U.S.overnight leaving his staff, contractors, suppliers and labourers destitute this sounds typical. He left customers who had paid big deposits with half finished or unstarted projects. He fled. Took his money and fled.

His modus operandi was to hire the desperate as salesmen and send them out on a commission only basis telling them they were "management trainees". As soon as he owed them money he would fire them and debit their commission accounts with phony "Undermeasure" charges.

This was in the 1990s. Little did he know the Internet would catch up with him! Delayed karma, like DNA!

His contractors would send a half man/half gorilla, a wrestler by name Mike Schutte, to his home to get their overdue entitlements. His wife, a little lass, would call Larry Green who would then pay. That worked in getting money from him, nothing else.

Deal with him as a customer, supplier or employee at your own risk

The native South African leopard does not change its spots!.

System Pavers HR Rep

AUTHOR: Johnnyw/SP - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 31, 2012

The above statement about System Pavers "hiring scam" is absolutely not true in any shape or form. I know this because I work for System Pavers in HR and I handle the hiring process. We would never advertise our job openings as a means to obtain customers. Our Management Trainee opening is 100% a real job opening and it's actually one of the most promising career paths that we offer. People tend to assume that we haven't hired anyone just because they've seen the posting up multiple times, but as the hiring HR, I can say with complete confidence that we have filled the position and have made great hires. This is a management trainee opening, so basically it's a program for us to mold an employee into our type of Sales Manager. We are a nation-wide company so it is not unusual for us to have more than one opening, so even if we may have hired someone, there's still more openings to fill and there for more openings to advertise. I've been here for over 4 years and I've been in HR / recruiting for over 8 years and I love working for this company and I would definitely stand by System Pavers all the way. If anyone has any concerns about our hiring practices, please feel free to contact me at (949)263-8300.
