My husband and I have a shared plan (800 whenever minutes, unlimited mobile to mobile, 5 test messages each). We are constantly getting bills that are over $100 when are plan is supposed to be $69.99 a month. They tell us we've exceeded our minutes and yet on the bill there is a "0" next to all calls made, no additional minutes listed on the bill!!
I also noticed "usage charge" show up on the bill with a $15.75 charge for that.....since when did you have to pay an ADDITIONAL usage fee for your phone?
Customer service is horrendous! I have asked 3 times when my contract is ending and they fail to address that issue and just keep telling me "you have exceeded your minutes". Fine, show me where....to what number? Also text messaging charges....we don't text!! I tried it once and my husband just called me back, he doesn't know how to view or reply.
I CAN'T WAIT TO GET OUT OF CONTRACT. I see a class action law suit in their future just like Airtouch!!

MY T-MOBILE EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN GREAT

I have never had any surprises on my bill, my contact with Customer Service has been excellent, and they are great about immediately resolving any technical issues. I have 1000 anytime minutes, my husband has 3000. I have unlimited T-Mobile to T-Mobile, unlimited text messaging, 10 MB T-Zones on mine, 1 MB on my husband's..the works. Our bill NEVER runs over $140 a month for both phones. You want cellular phone hell? Go to Sprint.

T-Mobile isn't the only company that offers detailed billing

These days, most cell companies offer detailed billing, if not on paper, you can get it on-line. My experience with T-Mobile is just after they switched from Voicestream to T-Mobile we started "going over" on our minutes by $100 to $200 per month. Every month like clock work, I would sit down at my desk with a calander and highlighters going over our "detailed bill". Every time I came to the conclusion that my bill was wrong and we didn't go over on our bill. I would call and complain every month and every month I was told that your computers weren't wrong. Every month I would say, "How can you tell me that after only looking at the computer screen for two seconds when it took me hours to review my bill?" Every time I got the response that T-Mobile's computers couldn't possibly be wrong. Well they were and still are. We were forced to go from a family plan to two seperate plans which total 2600 anytime minutes per month which we never even get close to using. They are now collecting amost $200.00 per month from us in charges insted of the $99.00 that they were getting for the family plan. It wasn't until the law was passed that we could take our number with us to someone else, that the overbilling stopped. I called and threatened to change companies, after being with Voicestream/T-mobile for over 5 years, they appologized over and over again. Just threaten them to move your service, and if you are being overcharged, and you have a contract, you might want to weigh the early termination fee to what you migh pay them in false overage charges until your contract is up.
It might be more economical to just cancel your account and pay the fee. If you were like me when you opened your account you probably had to pay a small deposit anyway and they will just keep that in lew of the cancellation fee, just be sure to cancel in writing and send it certified return receipt mail to T-Mobile so they can't claim that they never received it. I would also follow it up with a phone call the day after your receive proof that they received it so they can either deny or acknolodge that they received it.
I hope that helps.

Detailed Billing, the bill is probably right

Do you realize that T-Mobile is one of the few companies that provide FREE detailed billing (detailed billing is billing that shows where every single call is made and at what time) Other companies charge a $5-$10 fee.
Anyways if you want to know why you are going over the minutes it indicates which number uses how many minutes and if you wanted to to doublecheck and disprove the system count them by hand but the bill is probably right.
"Usage" does not mean you are getting charged for using the phone it means you went over your minutes. Something I would suggest for you to try is dialing #646# and then the send key. It will say on the screen how many minutes you've used so far and can keep track daily til your cycle is over and the phone automatically resets.
(By the way no other cell phone carrier has anything like this you have no idea what you are using until the month is up and you are only given a total unless you've choosen to pay for detailed billing that is)
