Taco Bell - Pepsico nasty ads All That Have Taco Bells Alabama
*Consumer Comment: It's meat, partly
*Consumer Comment: More myth
*Consumer Comment: I quit eating at Taco Bell....
*Consumer Comment: Yup
*Consumer Suggestion: What??
I am objecting to the cheesy beef thing in the new ads. The people in the ads look like they have mucous coming out of their noses.
They are disgusting and most unappetizing. Yuck! I haven't been back to a Taco Bell since I first saw that advertisement. Until they take it off the air, I will not be going back.
One of my points is: if those things were so all-fired good, why aren't the people eating them instead of letting them hang there, like so much snot that even a baby would want to get rid of?
I would be interested in getting responses from other viewers about these ads.

It's meat, partly

As I posted in a comment for another Taco Bell report, check the trash at a Taco Bell. You will see, on a ground beef box, that it doesn't meet the RDA set by the USDA for a serving of meat. That is because it is blended with oatmeal. Odd, because I would usually always encounter gristle in their ground beef. I'm scared to death I'll chip a tooth on it, and you know they would not take responsibility for that.
Maybe that's the scam. Make their cheapo beef stink so bad, you'll order their jacked up steak or chicken, if you dare eat there.

More myth

There is no such thing as Grade D, fit for human consumption meat. This is urban legend that dates back to about 1980. It's right up there with the Neiman Marcus chocolate chip cookie myth.
Meat in the US is not graded on a scale represented by letters. So you wouldn't see letters on a crate. Meat isn't even graded, it merely gets a pass/fail.
If a meat producer wishes, he can have his meat graded by a USDA grader, but this is optional. The grades are:
-USDA Prime
-USDA Choice
-USDA Utility
-USDA Cutter
-USDA Canner
But no grades

a few years ago when my daughter learned in a high school health class that Taco Bell uses Grade D meat. I mentioned this to a lady that works in the office at the school and she laughed and said she'd seen a delivery truck at our local Taco Bell and meat boxes labeled "Fit For Human Consumption". GROSS! I need to see a Grade A or Choice etc type label. I can't eat there anymore! It was bad enough having to drink Pepsi instead of Coke...lol
