I rented a vehicle from Alamo Tampa international Airport on Saturday, September 21,2013 and returned it on Tuesday, September 24, 2013.   When I rented the vehicle there was no inspection but upon my return , the representative walked around the car and told me that there was damage to the front passenger bumper.   I and my wife looked and did not see any damage but she wrote on the form that it was damaged and sent us to their service desk to report to their damage unit.  My wife continued to discuss with the rep and I took a picture of the vehicle.  i have seen others have filed similar complaints due to these and/or similar circumstances.   We should not be penalized if the car was not identified as damaged.    we immediately contacted the damage unit and we're informed that the report would not be in for a day or so.  I will continue to follow up.

Some Questions

AUTHOR: Jim - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, September 24, 2013

Who rented this car?  Who signed the contract?  Who was on the hook for the contracted amount?  The answer to all those questions is obviously YOU.  In that contract you noticed YOU were on the hook for any damage, right?  Then incredibly, you come here and say "They" didn't inspect the car prior to you driving it away!

Since YOU are the person on the hook, do you kinda think, maybe, perhaps YOU should have inspected it PRIOR to signing the contract so that YOU could point out to them PRE-EXISTING DAMAGE?  With your incredible lack of very elementary business sense, perhaps you should sign over all your rights as a human to somebody else so that you are no longer a threat to your financial health.
