I bought into their time share program in roder to access their last minute inventory, which is actually a good deal. It seemed pricey to join, but you get a free 2 night stay in a Marriott and $300 in free gas. I have never received either. The Limitations on the Marriott make it seem like the only place where there is availabilty is Bismarck ND in the middle of January (i tried San Francisco in January, well in advance and there was no availibilty. Of course the process takes months to go through so you cannot plan ahead with them . I also filled out the slips for the free gas. After 4 months, I have not received a dime. Their properties are hopefully legit, but their "perks" are not.

I have been a TAN owner for about 7 years. I am not familiar with the new marketing tolls being used today but this is how we navigated through a disapointing program. First of all set you expectations that these properties are "tired time shares". Some are really nice, some are really really in need of overhaul, but most are in the middle. Some properties are HOME PROPERTIES where they own all the units, some place they own only a few units.
Next plan well in advance, forget them ever finding a place "anywhere in the world", just choose from their listed properties.
I purchase the $50 insurance so that I can change my mind later on and it does not cost me additional losses. For example, if you want two weeks but you cannot pinpoint your vacation, then order three weeks and get the insurance on front and back side knowing you will drop one of them later.
Once I really did not like a property at all and refused to stay there. I was really persistant but I got the week back, did not lose any money, and they paid my does for a year. LESSON LEARNED ... you might want to schedule a hotel for the week in the area that you can cancel up to 4:00 pm just in case ... that way you are covered an will not ruin your vacation. I personally have not done this one but have thought about it!
Also note that they charge $25 PER DAY for PRIME SEASON or if you need a 2 bedroom. So a two bedroom in prime season adds $350 per week!! (They never told me $25 PER DAY, I thought it was PER WEEK ... the fine print stated per day)
Gulf Coast was great, Maui was wonderful, Gatlinburg at the Summit was great, Gatlinburg at English Mountain we walked away ...
Good Luck
