I sent wife to get Sunday newspaper insert advertised Gameboy SP with free game (while supplies last). She purchased it at approximately 11:00am the day of the sale. She was informed that Target no longer had any of the free games and in fact they were only supplied with five (5) for the sale and no rain checks were allowed.

Since this was a long promised gift for our six year old son, she purchased it and he began to play with it. When I later learned of this deception my wife tried to return the items, but was told they were unreturnable since they were opened...

The advertisement was placed in the Rochester, NY "Democrat & Chronicle" newspaper which claims a Sunday circulation of approximately 225,000.

That Target knowingly stocked only five (5) units of an advertised item in such a venue is unreasonable and in fact extremely misleading (while supplies last!).

Ad clearly said "while supplies last".

This is a long time ago - what happened - yet still valid today.

I just felt the need to explain to someone who reads this:

1.) Its not a perfect world it can be ethical or unethical.

2.) Therefore the Team Lead stocking the shelves or sales person could be just that.

3.) Yet people could be waiting outside at midnight until opening and run out early.

4.) A Target Store found in California in the news was caught price fixing - paid a fine

5.) Therefore its possible for any store to be ethical or unethical

6.) Learn what the policy of the store is - store polices can be different

7. Just because a store had a great policy some other store can do it better.

8. Just because a store had a nice policy - it may not alway be there.

9. Learn what the policy of the store is - your best buy is being a smart shopper.

10. If your smart driving your car - you should be smart with your money in a store

11. Ask questions before you buy it - then decide to buy it or skip it.

12 Someone may lie about their polices to get a sell - fact is when you ask - then you heard it

Foolish - mislead some is always possible.

AUTHOR: MLS582 - (United States of America)

When you buy from Target stores - You can be mislead by someone who works there, or by a customer that shops there. Its not a perfect world. People mislead, for a purpose, for a reason. or misunderstand for a reason.

"There too foolish to buy from, therefore I have reason. Tell me I am wrong and I have a better reason to avoid your store, I saw and I heard it - force me to deny what I see and heard and read, therefore, I have more to see and hear, more of a good reason to avoid your store, or more cautious of - your deceit - I believe I see and read and heard."

Every store can be different - People are never in every store, everywhere, (whether a customer or not), a Target store can be found, therefore mistakes can happen and not by all stores, perhaps

Once open a time, they had a card, with the number to call about unethical things, Target workers found, could call, be it false or real, therefore, never more.

I once worked at a Target store, I know how many lies or misunderstanding can be created, by someone, I could list a number of them, we were expected to remember, that we did discuss at break time and laugh about - what do you expect, we saw and heard it, its a paradox. Stock the sheles, Work fast, answer questions from customers, yet its your fault for not getting it done in less time. Therefore some people find ways to refuse to answer customers. I could create a much bigger list, I saw and heard it.

What was I fired for - not showing up. I was a customer - asking about what they sell - told to leave - stay away. What was his excuse - reason, She is too lazy and - presume I am helping her to extend her time to finish, so she can get more money. She was finishing stocking - left early.

To mislead some is always possible, fact is, is it real, and it can be used to coverup the facts or fiction.

Not Target's fault

I worked at Target in the stockroom over the very busy holiday season. Time and time again we had items sell out and irate guests. The individual store does not control how many of a certain product they will get. That's up to the distributor. The stores never know what they're getting until it comes off the trucks. Also, Target's return policy is clearly stated that electronic merchandise cannot be returned once opened unless defective. The ad clearly stated "while supplies last" and "no rainchecks." You knew this therefore there was no rip-off. You could have asked them to call another store, however.

Hmmm.... I do not see what there is to be complaining about. The ad clearly said "while supplies last." Um, so how exactly were you "mislead" when you got there and they did not have any? Regardless of how many the store has or does not have in stock, "while supplies last" clearly indicates that you may or may not be able to get one depending on what time you get your rump-roast over to the store to buy it!
