Taroue Brooks I hired an attorney, and he still hasn't paid...he even told me "the check is in the mail". Durham North Carolina

Hello.

I'm a graphic designer that was hired by Taroue Brooks for freelance design work in January of 2008. After successfully completing 4 projects for him (with no complaints), I was never paid the agreed upon fee for my services (totaling $1,165.00).

I invoiced Taroue Brooks at the completion of each project, but never received payment for any of them. I contacted Mr. Brooks several times by phone and e-mail, and he assured me that I would receive payment.

At one point, he even told me that he had arranged over-night delivery for the money that he owed (which never came). After weeks of phony promises of payment, I hired a lawyer to send Mr. Brooks a legal demand letter. Again, Taroue Brooks agreed to pay my lawyer, who in turn, would pay me, but never did.

I want to share this story so that Taroue Brooks won't be able to take advantage of others in the future.
