Taurus International Taurus ArmsTaurus USA Service Repair is extremely untimely Nationwide

I purchased a new Taurus PT24/7 G2 45 cal. pistol  a couple of weeks ago.  I fired it on the range the next day, and experienced several "double-fires". I immediately mailed it to Taurus for repair. It arrived one week ago today, so I decided to call and get the status. After waiting a LONG LONG time in queue, I finally got to a live body on the other end. She told me they received the gun and it is in repair - which is expected to take FOUR TO SIX WEEKS!!!!!

Are you kidding me? 4-6 weeks for what is likely a 15 minute warranty repair on a brand new weapon??? This is completely unacceptable! Let me see now...

1) Taurus sends a product into the market with a VERY DANGEROUS defect

2) I spend nearly $700 dollars to buy it, and it double fires about 8 times in 100 rounds (which says to me it likely double-fired during quality test and was "blown off".

3) I have to spend $21 more to ship the gun to Taurus,  and they tell me I should expect it to take 4-6 weeks to repair and return it to me?

Had I known it would take 4-6 weeks, I would have taken it to a local gunsmith to have it repaired, which likely would have cost me little if any more than the shipping charge and I'd get it back the next day. What a joke!!!! I am going out to buy 3 guns today for Christmas presents, and I guarantee Taurus' logo will not be on a single one! I was warned by friends not to buy a Taurus, but I didn't listen!!! I guess this whole thing is my fault!!!
