Taxmasters Inc. tax help, tax reduction, IRS intervention Henderson, Nevada

On Tuesday August 10, 2010, I contacted Taxmasters Inc. to intervene on my behalf concerning and underreporting billing I received from the IRS. Taxmasters required that I agree to a billing of $3,500 for their services and further advised that no services would be rendered until I had signed a power of attorney and fee agreement to be forwarded immediately by e-mail. These documents were never forwarded and I never signed anything with Taxmasters, Inc. Taxmasters, Inc. promptly debited my checking account for the agreed $500 deposit and proceeded to do nothing.

This is to notify you that I am canceling representation by Taxmasters. I have reviewed my records and concluded that I will ultimately have to pay the tax increase of which I have been notified by the IRS. Since I am liable for the full Taxmasters fee regardless of outcome, I am not at all confident that Taxmasters will be able to effect a reduction in tax liability commensurate with their fees. In fact I am confident that I am pouring money down a rathole by engaging Taxmasters.

Consequently, since Taxmasters has rendered no services to date, has not provided a power of attorney to be signed and I have in fact signed NO documents engaging Taxmasters to represent me I am canceling representation by Taxmasters and requesting that the $500.00 charged to my debit card as a downpayment on Taxmasters fees be refunded immediately.

Taxmasters, Inc. subsequently debitied my account for an additional $500 still without forwarding any documents of representation or fee agreement. After more telephone calls I was directed to the Quality Assurance department of Tasmaster's  Inc. who advised that they were unaware of any cancellation of representation. I again faxed the notice of cancellation to the Tasmaster's, Inc. QA department and followed up the fax with email confirming delivery of the fax to the fax number provided by the Taxmaster's, Inc. QA deartment as follows:
