TaylorWorks was brought in by our parent company to handle our server backups and Virus protection of the server.  In December of 2010, TaylorWorks ran the first back up on the server and when a new IT person (another company-7 months later) was brought in to do other work for our company on the same server, it was then discovered that TaylorWorks was billing us, but never providing the monthly backups they were supposed to provide.  In July 2011, I questioned the issue and they started running the back up on 7/18/2011 which shut down our operations.  (So, for 7 months I just assumed it was being done).  The backup being performed now all of sudden was taking to long and since there was so much data we could not work.   I called TaylorWorks.  They never stopped the back up that day.  Never returned my call till after 5pm, when the sales guy finally called.  The next day, the back up started again,  supposedly automatically after being very clear that this was preventing our business from operating and not to do this.  They finally removed the back up device, but now refuse to refund any money.  They charged approximately $250.00 monthly for a service to us that is obvious they never provided.  They claim they provided other services, but the agreement was only server backup and virus protection on the server.  The TaylorWorks Sales Representative verbally admitted that they had never backed up our server though they billed us.  I asked for a refund and they will not refund money.

Call from Tim Taylor

AUTHOR: Mike - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, August 01, 2011

The owner of TaylorWorks, a very arrogent Tim Taylor phoned me today, August 1, 2011, after he sent me an email letting me know that I could call him (what an honor!), has decided that he mutally wants to end the business relationship after a brief conversation.  He made it clear he does not want our business.  Taylor's claim is that our company ceased the backups in December 2010 with their company (which is not correct, but he could not identify who cancelled these backups) Of course, the bill remained the same monthly.  He claims it is for other maintenance on the server.  The amazing part is the invoice references daily backups on it.  Now all of a sudden, he states it is just a template they use when I went thru line items on the $250.00 bill.  When I asked the sales rep. in July 18th, 2011, he scrambled to do a backup which shut our business down.  ????  So why scramble to do a backup at that point?

When I told him that I was in agreement with not using them anymore and that I would voice my issues to the other partner of the company who is still using TaylorWorks (for another one of his companies), Tim Taylor  threatened to send me to collections for the $750.00 still owed on the account.  I guess he doesn't want to loose that other account.  Payments to TaylorWorks were held since they would not relase the server passcode to us when requested numerous times in writing.  They would not release the server passcode to us for months and claimed it was not their practice.  So, they hold our server passcode as hostage for payment when they are just providing a service?  He then sends an email stating, "Sorry Michelle that we have not been able to meet your needs.  I will credit your account the $750.00 for the last 3 months of server maintenance. "
