 I purchased a bed with a special financing deal with TD banks "renovate" card. Initially, I was told it was a loan, not a card. My first statement came on the 15th with a due date of the 7th of the month. I was not assessed a late fee. As I paid larger payments in efforts to pay the loan off early, statements were mailed later and later and late fees were always assessed. One day I called and was informed that while my statement was always due on the 7th, statements are sent on the 12th I asked how that was ok considering I didn't have the bill to pay in my hands. I was mocked by the "supervisor" and told I could be responsible and remember or pay it online. I enrolled in their auto bill pay promptly. Www.myonlineaccount.net Registration was simple. However, logging in after, to pay, IMPOSSIBLE. I looked around online and saw many of the same complaints Late statements equaling late payments and the website never working. These complaints go back over a year. 35 dollars in late fees assessed each month adds up very quickly and from a large group of people who are trapped like me? I cannot imagine. Banks are supposed to ensure there is a reasonable amount of time between statement issue and due date. With the advent of online bill pay that time frame is shorter. But this is impossible!! I'm disgusted that the company admitted to the practice and they themselves could not log in to the online account.
