I brought a check to my bank, and did not have even close to the amount in my account to cover the check, that was cashed by the bank, the money was sent western union to a person who asked for a favor. I thought nothing of it until the bank was charging me fees, overdrafts and completly blaming me for my account being messed up. The person I sent the money western union put a stop payment on the very check I cashed. I had no idea this check was from a online ck service. the only thing I knew is that I had been ripped off. While in the customer service cubicle of my bank. The customer service rep stated "this should have never been cashed". According to the banks own policys . A out of state check will not be cashed if there are insufficent funds in the account to cover the check. The customer is allowed $100 . It does not state that the bank will cash the check regardless of what is in your account after you are a customer for 90 days , a year, or any other length of time.Which is some of the lame ecuses I got from my bank. if my bank did follow it's own policy . The only thing I would have got was a overdraft.instead of being out $1741+ overdraft and other fees. The policy is taped to the drive up window , and placed in various places of the bank. the bank denies any wrong doing, or any mistakes made on their part. Why then do they even have policies if they are not going to use them, and where do we go if we can't trust our bank to do the right thing.

TD Bank North Fee's

AUTHOR: Brenda - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 18, 2008

I use to work for TD Bank North and I must say too that they are a company that will rip off there customers. They charge fee's to their customers that are uncalled for. If you are one cent short you will get an over draft fee, and that is just a shame, there is no need of it. Also if you are in the negative status for five days you get another fee, of $35.00. So every five days you get that charge, and it can rack up fast if you do not check your account.

LET me tell you another thing that most banks do not want you too know, is that they keep a rating on your account, so if you have a low score, more than likely they will not give you a refund.

OH also if you use your debit card and the funds are not in your account, the bank will still allow your purchase to go through, so they can make those overdraft fee's,,,if there are no funds available,,it should be declined. BUT no TD BAnk rather let you get all the overdraft fee's so they can make money.

While I worked there,,I use to get all angry customers,,due to the fee's. It is so unethical and not good customer service.
