First, I received an email from Tekcollect Division Vice President (Alan Phelan)saying that he discovered my resume from Monster.com and was interested in interviewing me. At the 1st interview, he was telling me about the company, describing the position, and had me complete an application. He told me to come back the next day for the second interview.

During my second interview, all he did was read me the company's booklet and had me and another applicant watch a video. In the video there are all kinds of promises of sales potential they can gain from recruiting and training their sales people, just like a Multi-Level Marketing system. I asked if it was structured as a MLM, he said no. I asked how long he worked for the company, he said over 25 years.

After all his sales pitch of trying to get me to work as a 1099 subcontractor, he asked me to come back a few hours later. Upon returning my third time, he asked me to pay $350.00 for training materials and bonding. I told him he was very welcome to check my background and that I was very bondable since I have no criminal records. He said, "You need to pay for this to start, so I can give you the material to read and study for 18 hours."

So that meant I had to spend 18 hours to study without conpensation and above that I have to pay? I read the contract, it has no information about the multiple level of promotion or criteria of increase pay or promotion as the video suggested. I had asked him why he did not state that I have to pay at the begining? He ignored me and said I have to pay to get started.

To be quit frank, I still don't know anything about this company. So I said, I will think about it and I will get back. So the next day, I had a bad feeling about the company when I went online to find where the location of the head quarter. I went to google map, typed in the address and it showed me some resident area and a church. I called the company and asked if they were located in a church, and the guy on the phone said yes.

In my opinion, this does not look like a legitimate business. I called the Better Business Bureau in Columbus, OH. They said that the company is not a part of BBB,they have a C-rating, 49 complaints since 2002 and the president of the corporation is Nicole Burh. The google map listed the address registered to Danial Cline and Associates.

I feel there should be an investigation conducted on this company. There ad were very misleading, the interviewer said he had over 25 years in this company, but yet the company just started 2002, and a waste of an honest job seekers time.
