I did work for these people at a restaurant.  I worked almost 3 hours.  I checked out and submitted the paperwork.  They refused to pay because they said the job shouldn't take more than an hour to complete from start to finish.  Be the time I got shecked in, got my tools and ladder together and talked to the store manager about the problems they are having, a half hour had already passed.  That leaves 1/2 hour to finish the job, test everything, sign off on the work order, cleanup and pack your tools !  WHAT A CROCK! And now they won't pay anything.  Word to the wise, If your a technician, DON'T work for these people.  They'll make every excuse not to pay you.

Learn how to read and follow rules

AUTHOR: Joe LeDuck - ()

POSTED: Friday, April 25, 2014

Here is yet another complaint from someone who read or should have read the scope of work and rules for a work order, then gets mad when he is actually held to those rules.  If it was a flat-fee work order, and you accepted it, you were agreeing to complete the job for that fee whether it took you one hour or five.  If you disagree with that, the time to act on it is before you accept the WO and do the work, not after.  If it was an hourly work order with a limit on the number of hours involved, the same principle applies.

I have handled dozens of work orders for this service buyer through Onforce and another online platform.  Practically every single one was flat-fee.  On the ones where I didn't believe the pay was enough for the work being proposed, I submitted a counter-offer for a higher amount.  Sometimes they accepted my offer, sometimes they didn't.  But that is how you do it, before you accept the job, not after.  This is yet another of those complaints by people whose biggest problem is a lack of judgment, not an unfair service buyer.

And trying to change the rules of an agreement after you agree is not only unfair, it's dishonest.
