I went to work for Telenetwork with hopes of being able to work from home and make good money. They sent me the necessary equipment to do my job and all went well.

After a few months I got a better job offer so I quit Telenetwork. In doing so, they said they would withhold my check until they got their equipment back, IP Phone. Since I didn't get my last paycheck I couldn't send back the phone till I could get some money to do so.

I sent the phone in and sent repeated emails stating the phone was there, I had tracking so I knew when it was delivered. It took them 5 days after they received my equipment to send me an email back stating they sent my check out.

The phone has been sent in, but it's been 23 days since I was supposed to be paid. The documentation they had me sign regarding holding my check until they got the equipment back, was illegal according to laws in Texas.

If anyone is going to work for Telenetwork, don't do it, they won't get you your last check, especially if you need it to send their equipment back to them.

Never had any problems with teleNetwork

AUTHOR: Mascondante - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, June 05, 2011

I work at teleNetwork and I don't recall any time that such an event has happened.  Not to discredit the reporter but if it really was that difficult to sort things out it I would find that highly unusual.  Going through the proper channels, employees can get their issues resolved.  The management are reasonable people.

To clarify on the issue of equipment return/final paycheck below is an excerpt from the policy handbook:

Final Paychecks
Final checks are live and expire in 90 days. With the exception of
WAH agents, live checks must be picked up in person with the return of
all equipment issued and a completed Exit Survey. WAH agents final check
will be mailed to the address on file once all issued equipment is
returned. Equipment issued and returned is documented on the employee
file. San Marcos employees can pick up their final check at 350 Barnes
Drive, San Marcos, TX 78666 and Trade Center employees may pick up their
check at 5812 Trade Center Drive, Suite 100, Austin, TX 78744.
The cost of equipment that has not been returned will be deducted
from the final paycheck or paid for with a cashier's check or money
order. If an employee chooses not to return their equipment or to pick
up their last paycheck within 30 days, teleNetwork will proceed with the
following course of action:

If the check is sufficient, the cost of the equipment will be
deducted from the check. Any reminder will be sent to the Texas
Comptroller of Public Accounts, Unclaimed Property Division.
If the check is insufficient to cover the cost of issued
equipment, the negative balance will be turned over to a collections
agency.

Applicable Equipment Deductions are as follows:

Security Entrance Badge $7
Headset $60
Endpoint (Phone) $175
Quick Connect $15
Ethernet Cable $5

An employee whose resigns their employment will be paid on the next regularly scheduled pay day. If the employee was terminated by teleNetwork and they have the right to obtain their paycheck in advance of the next scheduled pay date, their check will be ready no later than the sixth day after their termination.

Finally!

AUTHOR: Irritated-Consumer - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, December 16, 2010

I finally received my check after calling them each day asking where it was at. The date post marked on the check wasn't when they said it was going to be sent out, it was actually the day before the first day I called them. Prior to that I had emailed them letting them know I would take legal action if necessary.

If anyone runs into issues like this, let them know you will take legal action, they may then get what's rightfully yours - e.g. check holding, etc.
