Telseven, Telseven's cramming, and billed through a 3rd party, ILD Telecommunications, Ponte Vedra Beach Florida

I recently examined the detailed pages of my telephone bill and discovered strange (and very expensive) charges for Directory Assistance several months ago. My wife and I NEVER use any directory assistance, even 411, because we can quickly and easily find the number we ned via the Internet. Additionally, in order to use the TelSeven services one had to dial a "10 10" access number. Telseven is billed through another company ILD Telecommunications.

I filed complaints with my local TELCO (BellSouth), ILD and My State Department of Justice after reading on the Internet about TelSeven's history. Check them out via various Search Engines such as Google.

What prompted me to file this information is a copy of TelSeven's response to my State's Department of Justice. that I just received from the DOJ.

Let me quote, in part, what they said: "In order for [me] to be charged for TelSeven's directory assistance, [I], after being expressly and clearly informed of the charge involved, had to dial TelSeven's equal access number. Had he not placed the call, there could be no charge."

Rather than getting into a "he said, she said" type of discussion I'm just going to let the matter drop. What unmitigated gall! My wife and I are the only ones in our house. we have no children or other people living in the house. As a matter of course, as I stated above, we NEVER use Directory Assistance of any type. we surely would have remembered "...being expressly and clearly informed of the charges involved..."

I would only hope that if other people see such charges on their telephone bills do not just say "the heck with it", or even worse, don't even examine ther telephone bills. Complain, complain, complain. In writing or via the Internet.

I would like to add that I have had the charges refunded, so money is not the issue.
