Stopped by this newly opened Honda dealership, Terry Lee Honda, which is a nice facility that had promised a new way of doing business in local announcements. Took my Honda in for tire service after I spotted a screw head showing on the surface of my tread.

The Terry Lee service advisor told me the screw had penetrated all the way through and they had a "special" plug they used to repair such a puncture and the charge would be $50. This seemed high to me so I left and went to the local tire retailer just down the street. They told me if the screw was all the way through, the charge to repair would be $24. After they looked at it, they discovered that it was only the head of the screw stuck between the treads with only about 1/8" of length below the head and there was no puncture at all. Charge: None.

Obviously, the Terry Lee people did not look carefully at the tire and even if they had, the $50 was double the normal charge for such a repair. This is enough for me. Terry Lee is a Honda minority dealership and I hoped as such he would present a different approach, but it is clear to me this service department is on the lookout for gullible women who might be fooled with the usual tricks found in this kind of business.

I think they saw a woman who they automatically thought would be an easy mark. I would advise other women to approach this service department with caution.

Terry Lee is NOT a Rip Off Artist

AUTHOR: Kevin - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, September 16, 2014

the first time I met Terry Lee was in 1973 when I purchased my first new car from him.  then 12 years later, he became the GM of the dealership where I was working.  I worked for him twice for a total of about 8 years.  I have known him to be anything BUT a rip off artist.  he prides himself on honesty and integrity and instills that in the people that work for him.  he is in the position he's in today NOT because he's a "minority" owner but due to a great work ethic and ensuring those that work for him do the same.  if all you say is fact, then the only explaination for this is that it was a simple errror with no intent.  to claim that 'they saw a woman coming' only leads me to believe that someone in the past has taken advantage of you and now you're very defensive.  Terry Lee and his employees would never take advantage of anyone.   its unfortunate that you feel this way but I would highly recommend that you call Terry personally.  he WILL take the time to speak with you and after doing so, I'm sure you will understand what a quality individual Terry is.  Best wishes to you!

I love automated messages....

Sure can tell that paragraph three is automated, the dealership is located in Avon, Indiana, not Indianapolis, Indiana. They are in different counties for crying out loud. I did business with them back in December and had mixed feelings.

The salesman was great, no pressure and straightforward. The finance department and service department has been a nightmare. Sometimes I find it hard to believe that America has produced such low living beings. I pray for the day karma finds them.

Inaccurate Report

AUTHOR: Terry Lee Honda - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, April 30, 2009

I am the Customer Relations Manager for Terry Lee Honda and feel this report is inaccurate. We have no records of any customer by this name and I have personally interviewed our service staff, none of whom can recall this scenario.

Our standard price to plug a tire is $20. This is a fixed pricing structure and not an arbitrary amount quoted differently to different customers.

As a brand new Honda dealership in Indianapolis, we stand on strong values for customer service and 100% customer satisfaction. We have many positive testimonials from our happy customers and our survey reports to date are at 100% satisfaction for Convenience, Customer Treatment and Value.

I have no contact information to resolve this potential issue with the report generator, but would be happy to do so if they would like to contact me personally. If it is possible that this report was generated as slander by a competitor, I would like to know who to contact for restitution.
