TO WHOM THIS MAY CONCERN ;
This report is on a company called "testing authority inc". It is supposed to be a website to help people with taking the postal exam. Well! I paid for my test
booklet and to my surprise two months later they are out of business.

I can only assume they are out of business because for two months straight I called without an answer. For a while I reached a recording saying everything is on back-order. Well now all of the business lines are out of service. So what do I do about the $160 dollars I have paid them. It has now been going on three months, with no refund or any communication.

Oh! This is the best part the website is now down. So what can a person do.

VERY POed, ,Florida

United Testing and Education Center was not formerly Testing Authority, Inc.

AUTHOR: Utec Customer Support - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, July 20, 2009

I would like to take this opportunity to clarify a few points regarding this report. Unfortunately, this is a common misconception. UTEC (United Testing and Education Center) and Testing Authority, Inc. are two completely separate companies. Testing Authority, Inc. did not change its name to UTEC. Because the two companies sell a similar product, along with the fact that UTEC began business within a few months of Testing Authority going out of business, many people are assuming the worse and thinking that they are one in the same. This is not true.

If you thoroughly research UTEC, you will find that we, along with other companies, do sell a similar product to the one that was being sold by Testing Authority, Inc., however, it is not the same product and the services are different as well. Because this product is preparing one to take the Postal Battery Exam, which is created and administered by the United States Postal Service, we must use only current and factual information pertaining to that test. If any individual were to start the same type of company today, they would have to use that same current and factual information, however that does not mean that they are selling the same product as UTEC. Our study guide does differ in many ways from the one sold by Testing Authority, Inc. Further research would also uncover that each company operates differently and has different ownership. Different product, different owner, and different operational structure. United Testing and Education Center and Testing Authority, Inc. are in fact two completely separate companies.

Because I am not a representative for Testing Authority, Inc., I am not able to speak on their behalf. I am not sure how their customers should go about receiving a refund, but I know that UTEC is not able to refund monies paid to Testing Authority, Inc. Because we are fielding so many calls from irate Testing Authority customers, our customers are suffering with longer hold times when they call into Customer Support and sometimes not even able to get through at all which is not fair to them.

We ask that Testing Authority customers not contact UTEC as we cannot help you obtain your refund. You may consider contacting the Better Business Bureau, local consumer advocacy programs or like the previous reporter suggested and contact your credit card company.

UTEC does appreciate the situation that the Testing Authority customers are going through. The only assistance we are able to offer is to help you to continue with your goal of preparing to take the Postal Battery Exam. We have incredible resources. For those that are interested in those resources, please call 1-888-302-9545.

UTEC apologizes to customers of both companies for any inconvenience this error may have caused. We hope that this explanation clears up some misconceptions.

Sincerely,

UTEC Customer Support

Testing Authority Inc is now UTEC

This is just a tip to help you pursue a refund. i've been doing research on this company because the same thing happened to me before they went out of business.

Testing Authority Inc changed to a different company and now goes by the name "United Testing and Education center" or "UTEC" They still sell the exact same postal study guides to unsuspecting people like us.

You can go to http: //www.theutec.com or call their assistance hotline 1-888-302-9545 to ask about a refund. Some people have gotten refunded, so don't give up. You might also consider calling the credit card company you purchased it with and filing a dispute with them; sometimes they give you a refund themselves and look into the dispute with the company.
