Ken Herring owner of Texas Chassis Works in Tyler Texas is a thief and scam artist. A friend of mine, a paralyzed from the waist down has had a dream of building a race car. He bought a brand new 2014 Mustang from a dealership, and took it directly to Ken Herring at Texas Chassis Works to have a roll cage and tubs and some suspension work done to customize and adapt it to my friend to fit his disability and help fulfill his life long dream.

They dropped the car off to TCW and a few weeks later send a certified check to TCW for $4,000 to cover a deposite to begin the work. After nearly 4 months of no calls or emails or anything, We sent 2 private eyes in to investigate. Come to find out he was in California filming some shoe for tv ( he used to STAR on the show Pass Time on Speed Channel) instead of working on the Mustang. We posted a contact info on yellowbullet to try to get more info on him and he finally calls and threatens the owner of the car with bodily injury. Owner said just push my car outside, i'm coming to get it.

Ken Herring said ok but that we owed him additional money for the less than 40% work he has completed. total agreement for all work was 7-8K. So now he wont return car or money and is trying to put a lien on the mustang. He is a thief and liar. Come to find out he does shoddy work and only tack weld the roll cage in instead of complete TIG welding the joints (how dangerous Mr. Ken Herring)

Pissed off customer Texas.

Attempted to pay, still wont return Mustang, Handicapped owners spirit is CRUSHED

AUTHOR: Madd customer - ()

POSTED: Thursday, May 22, 2014

After checking with lawyers to see the owners options, they came to the conclusion to just pay KEN HERRING the additional money he is attempting to extort from the wheelchair bound owner. They drove over a 4 hour roundtrip to attempt to pay KEN HERRING owner of Texas Chassis Works TCW in cash the remainder of whatever Mr. Herring Deemed was owed and retrieve the vehicle ( important to remember less than 40% of the work has been completed, roll cage is simply tack welded in place). Once they arrived with police present for the owners safety since he is not capable of defending himself due to being handicapped and wheelchair bound, KEN HERRING denied him return of his beloved and prized BRAND NEW 2014 Mustang. Cops said they could do no more as it was a civil matter. The owner left feeling hopeless that the vehicle he had dreamed of his whole life and waited years and years to be able to purchase and turn into a race car, would never be in his possesion again.

Halfway back on the return trip empty handed, KEN HERRING TCW called them and request they return to discuss a resolution of this problem. They are now on their way back to Texas Chassis Works in Tyler, TX. Will update soon.
